Macron is actually right, but where he is wrong is this. There will be Mali,Niger, Bukina Faso, but they will all be controlled by a Boko Haram or ISWAP government. They will be poor wretched hellholes run by people under whom the Taliban will look like liberals. Sahel people don’t know what they have done
Indeed. You are the one who showed more grasp of international geopolitics right from page 1 of this thread and you're in near-absolute terms correct here. These are my thoughts as well based on my deep knowledge of international relations and diplomacy.

A Somaliarization of those 3 countries would have taken full effect without the French military interventiond, thereby threatening other relatively stable West African countries and fueling the Islamist insurgency and criminal banditry in Northern Nigeria and Cameroon.

It's not fault, if not for our Unpatriotic and self centered leaders in Africa, that have no conscience and sold their Citizens to you Foreigners cheaply, despite abundant blessings of God in Africa, you won't say this. Thank the phase is gradually coming to an end
