My attention has been called to some thread opened by a scammer and blackmailers by name Chimakpam Nwana who opened several thread on nairaland to black mail me.

For record purpose, have decided to put out details account of what happened for the public.

I saw several thread where adverts were made here on nairaland for people to correct errors in there NIN and I contacted the number written on the advertisement. https://www.nairaland.com/7103450/how-validate-nin-both-online. (O 9 O 6 5 4 1 O 3 5 7 ).

We discussed and he assured me that the correction will be made without wasting time. He asked for the printout of the NIN to be corrected and I sent it to him. He told me that it will cost me 7k for the job to be done and I bargain for 5k which he agreed to. He sent me his account details
Account names : Chimakpam Nwana
Account number : 0046535466
Bank Name : Guaranty trust Bank GTB
and I pay 5k to the account.

After a week the corrections were not made and I called his attention to that effect but he ask me to pay 5k additional for him to see people that will submit the correction but I refused.

I left the chat but he called me back with his whatapp after a few minutes threatening that I have to pay him 100k and failure to do, he has my NIN printout and will make my life miserable and I won't be able to travel BLA BLA . The next thing I saw was that people are calling me that I am been called out as a scammer on nairaland. Attach here are some of the evidence I was able to save before he deleted our conversation and block me on WhatsApp.

I think Chimakpam Nwana should earn the highest ban on NL.
He must have extorted from many innocent Nairalanders. Scammers are many on NL these days.

I am also disappointed in you the OP. You are not an illiterate, so why on earth will you trust identification documents in hands of a complete stranger?

Why can't you visit the NIMC State HQ or the the LGA office nearest to you?

I will advice you to involve the Police and bring this fraudulent guy to book.

I deserved whatever you throw at me. Even me can't explain how i fell for this cheap scam. I have been on nairaland since 2002 I scam no one.

Everyone is looking for an avenue to defraud people, you can’t even trust people again.

He Is all over nairaland and he gets banned and post deleted. Next u will see another moniker with Paul or call Dr Paul. He is a scam.

OP, you need to file a case of blackmail , fraud , cyber bullying and defamation of character to the Police concerning this guy.

After he is duly convicted, you should initiate a civil suit against the idiot citing his conviction and demand he pays you compensation for the defamation and cyber bullying he carried out on your personality using Nairaland.

These are the kind of scammers that are blaçkmailing people to commit suicide.

You MUST make the case legal for your own good. Many people saw what he posted but not all will see yours. This might affect you in future and in a way you do not expect.

The guy must be arrested, arraigned in court for fraud, blackmail, cyber bullying and defamation of character.

The scammer created four topics to smear the OP towards blackmailing the OP to pay him money .

Would the useless scanner had stopped if OP paid him the money he demanded ? No. The scammer would have continued using NL to blackmail and extort the OP.

This is now a criminal case and the scammer needs to be arrested.
