Excuse me, straying into your neighbors compound is not a fight for independence, but external agression.
This is pure expansionism, Ojukwu only needs to do away with the Niger Bridge and secure his Biafa.

What are you even saying? Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and the government then was fighting the biafra group. So it's normal for those biafra group to attack the seat of power. It does not have anything to do with yoruba or south west.
Lagos was seen as the capital and not south west. Don't be emotional about it. The biafra as at then don't have any issue with south west region.

Well, it was aimed at taking pressure off the Northern front.

At the begining of the war, the Nigerian army was focusing on Biafra's Northern borders. Midwest and West were out of the war.

By invading both regions, the Biafran army was gambling on taking pressure off the Northern front, as the invasion would have forced the Nigerian Army to deploy some troops away from the Northern front (in 1967, the Nigerian army had been decimated by the previous year's crisis)...to the West.

But as you know, man proposes...
It was a blunder just like Hitler's going eastward during the 2nd world war. The battle of Ore was the turning point of the Biafrian war, just like the battle of Stalingrad was also the turning point of the 2nd WW.

In a speech in Asaba, Ejoor reiterated that the midwest would not be sucked into a war between the East and the North. Hence the FGN left 300 men in the mid west region.

Ojukwu later on claimed that the motive was not for territorial ambition or the desire of conquest. He said they were going to Lagos to seize Gowon which was in itself hilarious since they will have to pass through Yoruba states to get to Lagos.

The western region was majorly neutral as well except for the men in the military before the war started. Once ore got invaded, a massive draft took place in the western region.

Yorubas keep saying they were neutral during war, were they? Gowon and his Northern cohorts had killed the Military Governor of the Western Region, Col Fajuyi, and chased away the Yoruba man who was supposed to be President after Ironsi, Brigadier Ogundipe. Yorubas said and did absolutely nothing

Gowon now took over, war broke out, Biafrans headed to Lagos to dislodge Gowon. Thats when the same Yorubas, who said and did nothing as the Northerners were killing Fajuyi, chasing away Ogundipe and taking over Lagos, suddenly found their voice

After what Northerners had done to Yorubas, the same Yorubas were far more angry at Ojukwu for attempting to come to Lagos to deal with the same Northerners!

The whole thing is just laughable grin grin grin

You are talking with nsobu nsobu emotions as usual 😂. Wetin concern Ogundipe or the Yorubas with North and Eastern region fight. We are not power hungry. Fajuyi was entangled in the web by bad luck.

Gowon did not now took over. Gowon being selected to be Head of State was to balance the equation. He was a Northern Christian from the Middle Belt deliberately selected by the coupists. Else Murtala Muhammed who was the ring leader of the coup that Killed Ironsi would have been the one to benefit from the coup. Simply put, It was a coup of revenge.

As per the Biafrian war, the Yorubas felt the invasion of Ore was an insult to them. I had 3 uncles (one from Lagos and 2 from Osun State) that personally signed up to fight for that reason alone. These were just some of the people that stayed neutral and watched from the sidelines until Ojukwu decided to bring his rag tag militia to Yorubaland. He never got past ordinary Ore as his militia received massive wotowoto. Imagine what would have happened to them if the even tried to cross other bigger Yoruba towns. 🤣

The same Yorubas did not feel anything as their own military Governor, Fajuyi, was slaughtered like ram

They did not feel anything as their son, Brigadier Ogundipe, who was next in line to be President after Ironsi, was chased out of Lagos to make way for Gowon

They felt nothing as Northerners took control of Lagos and Installed Gowon

Yorubas only started feeling something when Ojukwu headed to Lagos through Ore, to deal with the same Northerners?

Laugh no go kill me grin grin grin grin

Fajuyi was given a chance to save his life by Danjuma (another christian middle belter) gave him an option to walk away, but the Ibo man Ironsi infected him with the a curse 🤣🤣🤣

What part of Gowon being a Christian from middle belt used to balance the equation and stop further bloodshed do you not understand.
