Ozommadu:Really? Good to know there's still a part of the country where governors aren't wasting money on vanity projects by building "international airports" that nobody – local or international – is using. |

I have said it before, FG should borrow money and build a world class Airport somewhere close to Lagos but not in Lagos. Having a world class Airport with a world class airline is sure way to bring development, employment and investors into any country. Many many examples are available. It's a true and tested means that works. I trust President Tinubu to already have such idea and will implement it at the right time. The Airport is one of the main reasons why Atlanta is what it is today. |

Ozommadu:There is a standard international airport in Lagos. You said so. It's the busiest or second busiest in the country – now, that's resource utilization. You need an airport in, say, Maiduguri, because of the huge distance between Maiduguri and anywhere. You can also make it international because of the huge ready market of people that travel for Hajj twice yearly. Now, tell me the distance between Abakaliki and Enugu or Owerri that warranted an "international airport" in Abakaliki. Tell me how many planes - local or international - have landed there since it was built. Tell me how Asaba airport makes sense if it is grossly underutilized. I know you people are all about tribal war on NL and you think I'm a Yoruba man defending his tribe. So I'm only writing this for reasonable people to read and hopefully learn a thing or two about resource utilisation where funds are scarce and have to be put to good use where they will most benefit the PEOPLE. By the way, most state capital cities in the SW have an airport now - it's you that is looking for "standard", by which I believe you mean an "international" white elephant like that of Abakaliki. Cities in the developed world - London, New York, etc. - have underground trains. And SW claims to be developed without underground trains. (When did they claim to be developed, anyway?) You, sir, are a genius! |
