The goal keeper' s job is to stop balls entering his net. Even if his defense line is porous, he should try to stop goals as much as possible.

I remember when Nigeria played Argentina with Vincent eyema in goal. He made some world class saves to stop Messi from scoring.

But they still score Vincent Eyenma. If the Nigerian Defence was very cohesive. With a very good goal keeper like Enyema. The least your team will take home is a draw.

That was what happened at the just concluded women's world cup. The supper Falcon's goal keeper is top notch, the defense was tight. Hence, the team's worst results were only draws.

Take a look at Mendy in Chelsea.. Clean sheets until Chelsea's porous defense exposed him and Mendy was just conceding goals.
