The dispute began when Ten Hag omitted Sancho from the lineup for a crucial match against Arsenal, a game the Red Devils lost 3-1 just before the international break. The manager cited Sancho’s performance in training as the reason for his exclusion.

In response to Ten Hag’s comments, the 23-year-old Sancho took to social media to express his frustration, claiming that he had been unfairly made a “scapegoat” and alleging that the manager’s words were “untrue.” He has since deleted the post.

Manchester United issued a statement in which they acknowledged the situation as a “squad discipline issue” that they intend to address. During this period, Sancho will undergo a “personal training programme” separate from the first team.
