I Need Job. Please Help Nairaland. by jawalis(m): 11:04am On Sep 19, 2023
Good morning sir/ma. Pls forgive me for my incessant posts here on Nairaland seeking job. I have really tried applying online for jobs, I have created account with Linkdln, indeed and jobberman but i have not been lucky. I studied Public Health (Health Information Management) in the University and graduated with second class upper division. I do not mind working with either formal or informal sector as long as I will earn living, I lives in Ilorin, kwara state. I’m so much under pressure to perform some duties as the first born of the house and this is really getting into my mental health because I don’t want to involve myself in illegal activities to earn living. I’m at a laundry right now ironing cloth for the owner at the rate of 30 naira per cloth, I was with a friend who writes project and seminars for people yesterday helping him on research and paraphrasing to be paid 1,000 for the day but it’s not steady. I don’t mind doing anything as long as it’s not too stressful for my physical health. Pls help me with job.

You already have a job, when you get home talk to your neighbors and friends and tell them you dry cleaner and iron for a fee.

Also Inform your church members about your new skill, you had be amazed at the end.

Don’t have where else to go. I’m from Ekiti state. I’ve been here since I graduated last year

Well, nothing happens in the comfort zone. You don't have friends or relatives in a place like Lagos or any place that has better opportunities? I grew up in Ilorin and I know there isn't much job opportunities other than Banks, Teaching and some Businesses.

Well in that case, if you have a laptop go online and try to acquire tech skills (Use google to know which one you can venture into) then start working remotely. Its not going to be easy, you will have to persevere.

Aspiring to a better life is the first step in improving your fortunes.

Don't get tired of writing applications! I know someone who wrote more than 50 applications within a period of 6 months and eventually got a job with a blue-chip company.

Coincidentally, he was also living in Ilorin and barely making ends meet with odd jobs.

Partner with them to do the ironing. You were born to work for yourself & create opportunities for others but you want to go build another man mansion. It's in YOU Jawalis

I’ve a fully functional barbers shop. I’ve someone who intend to manage it while I focus more on my phone repair and sales.
What kinda arrangement do you think is best with regards managing the barbers shop? Percentage?

Percentage 100% not salary

I don’t know the location but nevertheless, you shouldn’t work on percentage since you don’t stay with the stylist. It’s hard for you to precisely have accurate number of customers that comes in. So I’ll suggest you opt in for commission. I mean, you and your stylist agree on weekly or monthly base.

What if I’m the one sorting the fuel and electricity bills? And yeah, I’ll be in the shop attending to my other business

You should opt for percentage in that case. Since you’ll be there to oversee things by yourself
