|Mohbad And The Rot In Nigeria Music Industry by Newsline09(m): 1:48pm On Sep 20|
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad's death and the challenges he faced within the Marlin record label highlight the deep-seated rot within the music industry. These issues underscore the urgent need for government intervention to clean up the industry and potentially establish a legal framework for not only the music sector but also other creative industries.
In any environment or organization lacking proper regulations, individuals tend to act without restraint. The music industry, in particular, can be likened to a world where only the powerful and well-connected thrive. This has led to claims of cultism and other fraternities operating within the industry for protection against the mafias like Naira Marley and Kcee limpopo. While Mohbad's situation remains tragic given his demise, it has shed light on a pressing issue that the government cannot ignore, lest more young artists experience the fate and tragedy of Mohbad.
The allegations against Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, withholding royalties and catalogs from Mohbad due to personal ego and power dynamics only mirror a pattern seen in the industry and not just by Naira Marley. This pattern extends to cases like that of the young flute talent Ojazzy Igbonile, who was exploited by Kcee Limpopo, with whom he recorded the popular Oja piano. Many of us defended Kcee when the little boy cried out, without understanding the underlying issues that may have led to the claims of exploitation by those around Ojazzy. These young and naive talents, driven by a desire for success, often fall victim to established artists and record labels that offer them meager compensation for their talents. In the case of Kcee Limpopo and Ojazzy, the young flutist claimed that Kcee took him to the studio and recorded over seven (7) flute performances by him without any payment or reward, not even agreement on royalties. Instead, Kcee Limpopo requested that he be grateful that he had given him access to his palatial home and recorded music with him. To date, I cannot confirm if the young boy has been paid a commensurate reward for his catalog and royalties from Oja-piano and Oja-ginger.
This pattern of exploitation has persisted within the music industry, affecting numerous talents both in the past and present. Only a fraction have been able to triumph. It's high time the industry undergoes a transformation, with the government stepping in to protect the rights and well-being of its creative talents and establish a fair and just system for all involved.
Mohbad couldn't have died for nothing.

Newsline09:Why them no use jazz find who kill am. Why are they still leaning towards oyibo jazz which is police , medical and autopsy .
as i type, please ignore my punctuations and grammatical error. i am 100% nigerian and my mother tongue is not english. just get the messeage and before you attact , attack sensibly may ogun no strike your mama.
what i hate is stupidity. argue sensibly and i will take your points seriously.
when he was allive non of una try to help when when u clearly say that he was been oppressed. same way there are people around u now that need help but una no go help. when the person die now, same una go come dey form cia and fbi ontop am. same una go cry pass him family sef. useless hypocrites.
before i continue. i am neither a mohbad or a naira marly fan. i see nm as a bad infleunce. most of the girls and guys doing drugs and dressing like idiots actually copied it from the scumbag.
Points to elaborate on.
Naira use jazz
lets be real, no one will have known that someone like lil smart existed if not for naira marly picking him up out of the trenches. the guy was doing everything to get NMs attention. he copied his hair style, copied his dance moves, even copied his style of talking. i no know if he also copied his drug abuse lifestyle like the rest of the others did.
at some point, lil smart had issues with naira and they both went seprate ways. from the way lil smart complined. i feel lil smart felt so entitled. typical naija behaviour. we all need to know that no successful or rich person owes us anything.
all this bad belle he had for naira is why he is saying all the things he is saying. personally, i wont take anything he says seriously because this is his only opportunity to attack the person he hates. i would do the same if I was in his shoes.
i like to be realistic. sentiments aside. we all know that health care in naija is trash. we all know how people have died as a result of drug overdoes or inappropriate drug administration on patients. i am surprised that nigerians are not even talking about the nurse and doctor that treated him, they are not even dragging the doctor. these are the people that need to explain what actually happened. why is no one dragging them? abi Nigerians don suddenly lack the ability to reason properly and logically? we are known as one of the smartest people in the world, abi our smartness na only for yahoo and how to push drugs
before drugs are admisntered to a patient, they are supposed to have done test to be sure that the drug they are administering is compatible iwith him.
if i am to be realistic, the marlians are popular for drugs, igbo, sk etc. its very possible that he might have overdosed on any of that and these doctors go just carry another drug inject am. this shit could cause heart issues, thin or thicken his blood or cause may other stuffs that an average human body wont be able to withstand.
i could write a full book on this but i no get that kain time.
these celebs are just clout chasing . they see these as a way to get more popular.
even celebs wey wicked pass devil sef dey also talk rubbish just to trend.
most of the celebs that you see coming out to to type justice for mohbad are just doing it because others are doing it too. if they dont , their illitrate fans will unfollow them. tunde ednut wasnt rady to say anything about this , probably because he had a different view
but he jump on the train when his followers started dragging him . now he is talking about it but still applying small wisdom.
omo that gen z babe is suspicious. how can your husband die and instantly u are addressing him as nigga? like wtf. how can you be saying things like no one will be able to replace him. dem never bury guy man u don dey talk of replacement?
a real widow wont even have time to come online to type anything. see when davido son die, chima no get strength to open phone and type or make any explanation. if you have lost someone dear to u, you will understand this part.
5....him father and him family....
omo that man too is acting very questionable. how can you lose your son and be granting press interview. how can u allow your son to be buried in a coffin wey them go dey bend him head.?
how can u loose your son and be talking about how to share properties. like wtf. if i loose someone dear to me and press come begin to ask me shit,,,i will tell them to Bleep off. i am mourning. they can come and ask me all the senseless questions later. even if i will grant interveiw, it will be under some type of compulsion. not to happily go in front of camera to explain shit.
this type of behaviour is very questionable. i wont say he knows much about his death, but i will say he has no regard or love for his son.
its obvious this guy has haters, there is a possibility that he might have been poisoned. the people he hanged out with a day or 2 days before that time should be questioned. though autopsy which i call oyinbo jazzz will tell us if he was poisoned.
7....bullying and cyber bullying
what naira marly is experiencing now is hard core bullying and cyber bullying. how can u just say he killed mohbad without valid proof.
so if me and u get wahala last year and i carry camara record say if anything do me may them hold u o. and after a few month or after one year, i go abuse drugs and die, or i go take overdose viagra and alchohol and maybe sk and my heart stop to beat, e mean say na you kill me? if na so then 9 out of the 10 people accusing naira of killing mh bad are also killers na. lets look at this from a realistic point of view.
if tosay him and naira fight and he died while fighting, then me sef for follow drag am. or if he was shot, me sef for follow drag am. in this case he was sick and died in a fucking hospital. if naira marly gets so frustrated and commits suicide, the same idiots will come and start sympathizing .
the only thing i need nairamarly should be charged for is bullying and maybe battery. not murder.
some idiots even go as far as saying naira killed him spritually. like wtf. how can we ever advance if we still think this way?
while growing up, they used to say that if person kill person, them fit use jazz to know who kill am, them fit see am for mirror, them fit put water for basin and see am, them fit make the person run mad and confess.
please can u religious fuckers, babalawos , pastors etc etc make this happen so that people like us that dont believe this useless shit can become automatic believers
9..naira marly zino and the other dj and drugs.
people keep saying naira destroyed zino , other artist and the dj.
we forget that naira marly na drugs guy wey like igbo wella and he dosnt hide it. if you go join label wey the leader dey use igbo baff, put am for food, put am for drink, wetin you expect.? this whole shit is like u seeing faire, u carry your hand put insde them u come dey complain say the fire burn u. can we fucking use our brains for ones?
please lets leave Cruise and clout out of all this shit and be realistic before we end up claiming more lives as a result of this.

Newsline09:Listen to these plain truth O.P;
1. Getting recognition and audience in Naija is extremely difficult, unless u will have a very high level of rare Grace or its your destiny to blow fast.
Look at Olamide, Davido and Naira marley. Those guys worked their ass out without help or advantages of being under a label,
Getting attention / Fame that took years of struggle for Baddo and OBO, is what Asake is getting over night!, all thanks to Label.
So, here is the truth, Label bosses are trying really hard, i know what it takes to invest in Artistes and in the end majority of them nor de blow sef, it cost a lot to maintain Artiste, Ordinary video sef nor b joke.
This is the problem with label bosses and Artistes.
Artiste who luckily get the attention of top bosses, the joy that comes with it, make them to forget that, they are going into agreement; which is business amd in business, the one who is at higher advantage (Label bosses) tend to bend the agreement to suite themselves, u can never blame them, its business. While the Artistes out of excitement, sign without a 2nd thought, some don't even bother inviting a lawyer to explain the terms properly to them, in the end; Majority of them come out playing the victims.
Music everywhere in the world requires a powerful Grace or som1 to catapult u (Label), talent na added advantange.
Take a look at Runtown, Omar Lay and Ckay, those Niggas are very dope Artistes but dey don't have the advantage Rema, Ashake and others have that is sounding their names international.
In life, understanding the act of patience and one step at a time, has a lot to determine greatness.
If u think managing Artistes is easy; take a look at Timaya, Phyno etc, where are their Artiste?, How many have they managed successfully?
Davido's saving Grace is; Nigga is rich and making wave if not, im label for don die. When last did ANY of Davido's Artiste dropped a dope song or pulled a big show? that is to say; Davido has been running at lost, because he spends heavily on them.
Being a musician and having a label is 2 different thing.
Look at Asa, both locally and internationally, she has been giving back to back hits but the kind recognition these small boys get these days na bomb.
The fastest way to blow in the industry is big grace or have a big boss, while internationally; U MUST BELONG, Ask Eminem wetin e eye c, despite being a very good rapper.
* Label bosses extort Artiste because its business and dey know Artistes are handicapped and mostly don't have an option. I DONT AND CAN NEVER SUPPORT THIS BUT; IT IS WHAT IT IS. Most humans are just wicked.
