Your grandchild is an inventor.

what is so diversified about the Egyptian that makes it better than the Nigerian economy?

is it diversification that makes Egypt better than Nigeria?

what has Angola's "debt problem" got to do with the fact that they pay subsidy? what is the correlation?

is it becos of subsidy that they have a debt problem?

is it under APC or 8years ago that Nigeria started having an "oil dependent economy"?

you keep bringing up population but you avoided these questions i asked you earlier

what has population got to do with subsidy? is it because of population that the Saudi government can provide for its people? is there any social service that nigerian governments at all levels have shown competence in providing? is it because of the nigerian population?

what has improving tax collection got to do with providing subsidy? has tax collection in Nigeria been stagnant since 1960?

what has been done with the taxes al these years?

can you on behalf of the government account for the taxes collected so far?

what has supporting tinubu or not supporting tinubu got to do with the discussion? can you help me out?

Here is your own take remove subsidy n corruption dies a natural death. I don't know who is feeding you with all this n it doesn't correlate with reality.

Besides nobody is taking away anyone's profit its being paid by the government - where the corruption n looting n mismanagement stems from.

It is well with you please help us beg emi lokan to hands off completely and let's watch how the country will be better for it.

“And with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7
You don't know who you talking to. He is irredeemable. Claiming a thing that cost N800 will be sold for N40 is his way of blurring out the finer details that proves subsidy can be sustained. The people our govt is buying from in India and singapore, do they sell it to our govt at N40 after producing at N800 a litre? Never. It is just a matter of buying from local refiners and selling at whatever subsidized rate the govt likes. Refiners makes profit while gov makes the loss on behalf of same people who the govt is serving. After all corruption is also a form of loss that doesn't benefit the people(masses) as much as subsidy does.

But most Nigerians want the same thing to be done to the petroleum sector.

And it has been done for 40 years in the name of letting the poor breathe.

Yet, subsidy has not made things better. It has cost us 4 refineries, a lot of money lost, and a lot of corruption.

And somehow, I am mad for suggesting that fuel be sold at a profit?

Buhari did EXACTLY what Tinubu is doing now. And both of them did what EVERY NIGERIAN LEADER has done in the name of subsidy since 1973.

Sell petrol at a loss, and pay a subsidy that cannot cover the loss long term without us running into debt.

You guys, and the Tinubu guys do not see it, because you think you can buy something that costs N100 at N1.

Anyway, enjoy your subsidy. At the end, all of you Nigerians, you are the same. You want cheap fuel.

If we sold fuel today at the N145 it was under Buhari, we would be paying N800 per liter as subsidy by now. Is that sustainable, oga?

If we sold fuel today at the N87 it was under GEJ, we would be paying N900 or more per liter as subsidy now. Is that sustainable?

Tinubu=Buhari-=GEJ=Obj=Yaradua=army.

We dey pay too much for this cheap fuel.

Indeed, if you think that Buhari is better than Tinubu, you don't have any awareness of how much debt subsidy has plunged our economy into, apart from the other causes of our debt, corruption included.

The honest truth is, we have paid too much for cheap fuel. And for tinubu to bring back cheap fuel, it shows that his government has decided to return to one more failed government policy.

Well, let's keep lying to ourselves. Niger and Ghana buy fuel above N900 per liter...and BOTH HAVE WORKING REFINERIES. No subsidy, working refineries. The income we earn from oil is too low for us to pay for subsides and pay for good refineries. Not when we produce less than Libya....for a population twenty times the size of Libya/
So now who sent am to bring back subsidy?
This one wey him increase the price go reach 700/litre,we no still buy am?
Why him no use the money build refineries as him bin dey promise?

What do some of you people want sef? Government no subsidize, una go wail

Government is subsidizing, una don start to dey wail again

The problem with some of you is that, you're dumb but think you're clever

If the landing price of a litre of petrol is #900, when petrol was #200, government will have to pay #700 as subsidy, now that's like #650, Government will only have to pay #250 as subsidy.

There are lots of shallow people on nairaland
Shallow people in nairaland including you.
Listen to yourself again.
So when this man removed subsidy in his inauguration speech, did he tell you he wants to increase the price to #650 so he can only use #250 to subsidize?

Didn't you hear..... subsidy is gone forever?
That he will use the money to revamp our ailing refineries in 6 months?

So what now brings the issue of #250 subsidy bla bla bla?
Where do you get this your own analysis from?

You see somebody going back and forth in his policies without any firmed stance, instead of you to let him know the negative effect of swinging decision like pendulums, you are here analysing what even the president have never suggested.

Marketers are the problem...why are they always quick to spread news that will destabilize the country. You should know they are the ones that benefitted from subsidy, and they are so quick to put out nonsense..Let the Fed Govt speak to whatever they are doing or plan to do. NNPC signed a deal to stabilize the crude oil...but these marketers have been spewing nonsense since weeks ago trying to force panic buying and shortage of products.

so marketers benefitted from subsidy? I don't think so.

They benefitted from the corruption aspect of it and the masses from the subsidy itself. That's why people are complaining and the marketers too are angling for return of their corruption window. Corruption can be fixed is the message and point from the average Nigeria out there.

Apparently supporting the right to sell petrol at a profit means you are disturbed and a N50 paid agent.

Those who abuse me don't realize that this is not about PDP Vs APC. It is about the harsh fact that we have issues in our petroleum sector because of selling fuel below the production cost.

The sad thing is that the people who abused me well well on this site don't want to see.that
