The people our govt is buying from in India and singapore, do they sell it to our govt at N40 after producing at N800 a litre? Never. It is just a matter of buying from local refiners and selling at whatever subsidized rate the govt likes. Refiners makes profit while gov makes the loss on behalf of same people who the govt is serving. After all corruption is also a form of loss that doesn't benefit the people(masses) as much as subsidy does.

Sell petrol at a loss, and pay a subsidy that cannot cover the loss long term without us running into debt.
