Godszilla:You don't know who you talking to. He is irredeemable. Claiming a thing that cost N800 will be sold for N40 is his way of blurring out the finer details that proves subsidy can be sustained. The people our govt is buying from in India and singapore, do they sell it to our govt at N40 after producing at N800 a litre? Never. It is just a matter of buying from local refiners and selling at whatever subsidized rate the govt likes. Refiners makes profit while gov makes the loss on behalf of same people who the govt is serving. After all corruption is also a form of loss that doesn't benefit the people(masses) as much as subsidy does. 1 Like |

correctguy101: But most Nigerians want the same thing to be done to the petroleum sector. And it has been done for 40 years in the name of letting the poor breathe. Yet, subsidy has not made things better. It has cost us 4 refineries, a lot of money lost, and a lot of corruption. And somehow, I am mad for suggesting that fuel be sold at a profit? Right. |

Ikaeniyan0:Shallow people in nairaland including you. Listen to yourself again. So when this man removed subsidy in his inauguration speech, did he tell you he wants to increase the price to #650 so he can only use #250 to subsidize? Didn't you hear..... subsidy is gone forever? That he will use the money to revamp our ailing refineries in 6 months? So what now brings the issue of #250 subsidy bla bla bla? Where do you get this your own analysis from? You see somebody going back and forth in his policies without any firmed stance, instead of you to let him know the negative effect of swinging decision like pendulums, you are here analysing what even the president have never suggested. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Marketers are the problem...why are they always quick to spread news that will destabilize the country. You should know they are the ones that benefitted from subsidy, and they are so quick to put out nonsense..Let the Fed Govt speak to whatever they are doing or plan to do. NNPC signed a deal to stabilize the crude oil...but these marketers have been spewing nonsense since weeks ago trying to force panic buying and shortage of products. adenigga: |

So when you people were busy applauding him for hurriedly removing subsidy without any risk mitigation plan, you didn't realize what you are just typing now? Same you that applauded subsidy removal few months ago, it's the same you that is now applauding the return to subsidy regime. Indeed, this is what we called policy summersault! |

MasterTeeUSA:so marketers benefitted from subsidy? I don't think so. They benefitted from the corruption aspect of it and the masses from the subsidy itself. That's why people are complaining and the marketers too are angling for return of their corruption window. Corruption can be fixed is the message and point from the average Nigeria out there. Where are the palliatives now if not for corruption? |

Apparently supporting the right to sell petrol at a profit means you are disturbed and a N50 paid agent. Those who abuse me don't realize that this is not about PDP Vs APC. It is about the harsh fact that we have issues in our petroleum sector because of selling fuel below the production cost. The sad thing is that the people who abused me well well on this site don't want to see.that They all want cheap fuel. Anyway, peace out. Last post.! |
