They accomplished the Benin part, but after entering Ore without seeing a single Nigerian soldier on their way, Banjo and Ifeajuna stationed Biafran soldiers there and went to see Awolowo at Ikene. From there, they proceeded to Lagos to inform the head of State of the approaching enemies. If Banjo and Ifeajuna had not returned to Biafra after that atrocity, they wouldn't have seen what they saw.
