Help Me Before I Go Mad!!! by Bethuel2022(f): 3:05am On Sep 29, 2023
Nairalanders, I need help Asap, before things get out of hand. Before I move further, this is not a begging post, so please nobody should derail it, please.
I am a mum, I have a son to feed, but currently, I am doing nothing and I am at the verge of going crazy because sometimes, I get this suffocating feeling when I think of where the next food is coming from and that is exactly how I feel again this night. I wanted to pray, but I just can't pray.
I have tried a lot of things and my problem stems from the fact that none is working out. There is no kind of thought that hasn't come to me. I have tried selling foodstuffs, no way, online trust issues suffocated it. I have tried YouTube and Facebook, but growing to the point where you get monitized is no joke, and needs a lot of money input which I don't have. I have requested for a way to get vuga, a well sought out movie to post on my channel to boost it, no way to get it. I have walked up to a car stand, taken pictures and posted online, nairalanders said it's too expensive. It is the price I was told, so what can I do, I was just hustling for commission. I have a friend who wants to sell his miles, and is looking for a buyer. I hoped to get a buyer and get some commission from there, no way. Now there a lot of business I can do but they require capital which I don't have. I have gotten a teaching job, but the highest pay was 20k, I refused because daycare alone for my baby plus transport will take all the money. My only hope is business but everywhere seems to be blocked, like I am caged with no hope in sight. It has gotten to a point where I can feel myself loosing it. I just need one break.
I am asking nairalanders to please patronize me. I live in Jos, I can get you Foodstuff at an affordable price or better still buy any of the other things I advertised so I can raise money for business. At this point, I am loosing it, please somebody should patronize me, please. I just need a break from all this thinking.
I have created a store on Shopify to sell foodstuffs. It took me painstaking effort to set that shop up. I had to go for market survey so many times, because prices keep changing. That shop did not see the light of day because I couldn't make one sale and when my three months grace of paying one dollar expired, that one has been closed too. I received notification for that yesterday. I don't really need advice. I just need things to start working. Just one sale will go a long way in encouraging me to push harder. My pastor owns a fish pond. I can also get you dried catfish in any quantity. Please patronize me. I am loosing it please.

I read through some of your previous ads on Nairaland. I think you are mistaking desperation for passion and knowledge. You just can't decide to start selling anything without adequate knowledge. This is why you got those funny replies on your car sales thread. Truthfully, nobody will buy some of those cars from you. It shouldn't be about what the owner told you. If I tell you to sell a scrap for 4.6m, you should know the worth in the market and decide whether or not to go ahead. Again, desperation is why you abandoned the car sales thing for another trade. You clearly didn't have the passion for cars, which is the reason it was easy for you to move on.

I think you should stop trying to do everything, taking on anything out of desperation to survive. I understand the pressure of economic needs, but sadly, the principles of sales and business will not succumb to these needs.

I am rooting for you, though, and I hope you get your breakthrough soon. By the way, you may also consider learning a skill if business appears to be failing.

This is highly unnecessary, bros.

Let's not mock those who commit no crimes against us other than their genuine and sincere call for help.

Facebook or YouTube is not something you go into just because you need money in the next 2 weeks or month. It takes most people several months and years even while putting valuable content. Obviously you don't have what it takes if not you would have seen its progress organically with time.

How many nairalanders are in Jos? How many would be interested in buying a car? How many would seek for it online? Why do you think there are many sellers of different stuff in Lagos on nairaland but not in Adamawa or kogi?

Jos is not know for grains. How many nairalanders do you know or anyone doing the kind of stuff you typically get from Jos? How or what do they do to make it work, for how long have they been in it....

Your problem is you undermine all the ventures you are trying and you make it like it is a simple thing to do. To make it worse no brainstorming or thoughts about how you would make it work. With this you would end up as someone who has tried a million things and non worked.

My advice:

You and the individual that birth the child have the responsibility of the child. He must do his own part. Reach out to him, his parents, relatives and report him so that they can compel him to contribute his quarter, if this fails go and report him to the relevant authorities.

What or how are you surviving now? It seems like doing nothing or having no kobo is better than 20k to you. Moreover in one of your post you said you were teaching and tacking care of yourself and other minor household issue before you meet him, why not now?

Go back to your parents or family house. Take the teaching job, If your mum is a stay at home mother let her watch your baby while you are at work. If not look for a not too doing well neighbour and pay her a token every month. If your child is of school age enrol him in a school you can afford that is not far from your home or at the route of your working place.

While at the work, gather some few thousands. Scout for a spot and try your luck selling food in the evenings or frying one or two things like the way I see women do.

What exactly makes you think I am lying. People have genuine needs and call out for help and you think it's a lie. Anyways, no need struggling to prove anything. After my rant yesterday, I slept peacefully. Sometimes, when the head gets too hot, letting out can go a long way. I am calmer now, so I can restrategize. If there is one thing I have learnt, when I do get out of this mess, I will definitely help as many people as I can. I have been there, I know how it feels.

Thank you. You know my problem is that I panick. I can't help it though. My head becomes hot, my chest becomes tight, it feels like I can't breathe, the fear of uncertainty. It's usually worse when I read about all the negative news about Nigeria, like how the economy is crumbling. I get so afraid because of the responsibilities I have and then things keep getting worse. Talking about it yesterday helped me calm down. I know it might happen again, but hopefully I will be in better control. After all, if I haven't died up till now, it means it can only get better. Thank you again

I believe the father of your child is known, shouldn't he be involved in providing care for his child?

Please answer this.

What about your immediate relatives (Parents, siblings and trusted friends)? You've gotta seek their financial support too. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
