There's a thread that was created a couple of days ago here on romanceland. The topic of that thread was "Why most Nigerian men fear single mothers...."  ...In that thread, the OP (and many folks) tried to paint the picture that men who don't want single mothers, don't want them simply because they're "afraid" and that, that decision is stemmed from a place of "insecurity" in the man, lol  ...https://www.nairaland.com/7857064/why-most-nigerian-men-fear#126060337 When I went through the thread, I couldn't help but cringe at how narrow minded the comments of lots of folks here were ...One thing that lots of women (and sadly si.mps) still don't understand is that men too have standards just as women do and if a man is to take you seriously, then you must meet those standards ...It is precisely because lots of women don't understand this that they go about with their very foul attitude and archaic mindset, thinking that they're the best thing after sliced bread ...They go about with the believe that they don't have to self improve and any man should consider himself lucky to have their "liabilitically" entitled baggaged filled a.ss in his life, lol ...No wonder men keep using them and disposing of them like used tissue once they're done ...Lemme paint y'all a picture... If a female says she wants a man who earns 500k per month ... It doesn't necessarily mean that she hates men who earn less than that amount or that men who earn less than that amount aren't worthy of being loved ...It simply means men who don't meet that criteria (of earning 500k) are not good enough FOR HER (please note the emphasis) ...Those men could be good enough for someone else, but not FOR HER ...Now, let me state it categorically here that, MEN HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AGAINST SINGLE MOTHERS ...Single mothers are humans just like any other females out there and they deserve to be loved just as any other female ...HOWEVER, females should understand that singles mothers (and girls with high body counts) are a HUGE TURN OFF for MOST MEN out there ...In the dating scale of preference of most men, single mothers would fall at the bottom as compared to other females their age who don't have kids ...This doesn't mean that men "hate" them or that men are "afraid" of them, it simply means you're not most men's spec shikinah ...There's no insecurity anywhere ...There's no "fear" anywhere ...You're just not desirable to lots of men, period! ...Now, are they men who have no qualms being with single mothers? YES! But an overwhelming number of men don't want you because you're not good enough FOR THEM, so your best bet is to go for the men who do want you ...And I would wish that you and every other member of the society would understand this and stop painting the standards of men in a bad light by tagging it as "fear" or "insecurity" ...Thankiooo  ...16 Likes 4 Shares |

Men don't like single mothers because 1 Many of them are emotionally damaged. They carry the hurt from being abandoned to single parenthood. 2 Most of them are temperamental. 3 When you start having your own children, everything you buy for one & don't buy for the other is a competition. There was a single mother I was dating, na only she tell me say, I know my son will be a barrier, that's how she left me. Someone I was planning to marry. 2 Likes |

Fahvvy:Most christains don't read their bible. Their bible doesn't even support men marrying single moms. Their bible says, Jesus said in Matt 19:5-6 quoting Adam from Gen 2:24 "...'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife , and the two(which means the man and the woman alone, no kids involved) will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one flesh(this one flesh can now proceed to multiply). Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Proverbs 18:22 " Whoso findeth a wife(not a single mother) findeth a great good, And obtaineth favour of the LORD" Amos 3:3 "Can two walk together unless they agree?" The two there can be likened to a man and a woman, a single mom with her kid(s) isn't two anymore. That's 3+ Well, as long as I don't get involved sexually with a single mom, I'm good.
