~ Ifeanyi Ubah Calls For The Establishment Of A Regional Economic Development Commission

"I Set Up The Nnewi Security Architecture To Demonstrate My Strong Belief That Insecurity Can Be Eradicated In The South East," Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.

In Owerri on Thursday, 28th September 2023, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, CON and various political leaders including governors from Imo, Anambra, Enugu, and Abia states as well as Ebonyi State Governor represented by his deputy attended the 2023 edition of the Southeast Economic and Security Summit.

During the event which took place in Owerri, Imo State, Senator Ubah stressed the need for cooperation and synergy among South Eastern states to address security and economic challenges in the region. He also stressed the importance of security in attracting investment and driving economic growth, stressing the need for governors and all elected representatives to work together in sharing intelligence, coordinating security operations and implementing effective strategies to fight crime and the insurgency in the region.

He also encouraged the governors to study the system that he implemented in Nnewi and embrace the blend of artificial and traditional intelligence in community policing in dealing with insecurity.

In addition, Senator Ubah reviewed the economic potential of the Southeast region, emphasizing infrastructure development, job creation, promotion of entrepreneurship, and utilization of cultural heritage and tourism to attract investors.

SOUTHEAST SECURITY AND ECONOMIC SUMMIT, OWERRI 2023

COLLABORATING FOR A SECURE AND PROSPEROUS FUTURE IS A NECESSITY FOR THE SOUTHEAST

On Thursday in Owerri, I attended the 2023 edition of the South-East Security and Economic Summit. Remarking on the event which was also attended by Governors of Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Abia States as well as the Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State who represented her governor and other political leaders of the geopolitical zone, I stressed the need for collaboration and synergy among the South-East states in order to address the security and economic challenges facing the region. I also highlighted the importance of security in attracting investments and promoting economic growth and emphasized the need for the governors and all elected representatives to work together in sharing intelligence, coordinating security operations, and implementing effective strategies to combat crime and insurgency in the region.

I also reiterated the need for governors in the region to study the system I invented in Nnewi and its environs, and embrace native intelligence in tackling insecurity, and called for the establishment of a Regional Economic Development Commission that would coordinate and drive economic initiatives in the South-East. This commission would also facilitate collaboration among the states, attract investments, and promote economic integration within the region.

Furthermore, I discussed the potential of the Southeast region in terms of economic development and job creation and urged the governors to prioritize infrastructure development, promote entrepreneurship, and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. I also emphasized the need for the Southeast states to leverage their unique cultural heritage and tourism potential to attract both local and international investors.
I encouraged the governors to invest in tourism infrastructure, promote cultural festivals, and market the region as a tourist destination.

Security of lives and property is essential for economic growth and development. When people feel safe and secure in their homes and communities, they are more likely to invest in businesses, buy homes, and engage in economic activities. This creates a positive cycle of economic growth, as increased investment and consumer spending lead to job creation and higher incomes. It also attracts foreign direct investment, as businesses are more likely to invest in places or regions with stable and secure environments. Security is also crucial for the functioning of critical infrastructure and services. Industries such as transportation, energy, and telecommunications rely on secure systems to operate efficiently and disruption or threat to these systems can have severe economic consequences.

As we work towards creating a peaceful and secure geopolitical zone, ndị Igbo should always work closely with constituted authorities to make the vision a dream come true.

Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Ubah, CON
Anambra South Senatorial District

Fair!
I think Hon. Benjamin Kalu (Current Deputy Speaker) already introduced the Commission (SEDC) bill in the House. It is time for the South East Governors, Ministers and Politicians to lobby thier colleagues and get the bill passed.

This way, the Federal Government will be making a special budgetary allocation to the South East as a region. Everything no be fight. This is why the Northerners always eat thier cake and have it. When it comes to politics, drop emotions and chase interest. Simple.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!

We have been hearing this for ages. The question is why is not materializing?

The answer is simple. INSECURITY.

Insecurity not from the accused IPOB but Nigeria induced insecurity. Calls for regional police not working because the evil FG is afraid of possible break up. I am not talking of toothless Amotekun and Ebubeagu that was politically formed. I am talking of well equiped regional security that will guarantee safety of the people and will be able to fight crime to submission. The only way to attract investors.

Igbos do not need to woo investors. Igbos are investors themselves. Just provide security and put all the amenities.

Why didn't you add the oldest terrorist group? The defenders of a dead prophet. Always killing people because of blasphemy.

Same old brainwashed tactics the islamists use. Always running back to old testament.

Christianity starts in new testament.

Here is a typical example of Jesus Christ telling his disciples not to FIGHT FOR HIM.

John 18:10-11
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”

Fact: No difference between bokoharam and those who support killing for blasphemy.

people who cannot agree on common grounds and fair principles cannot develop their region meaningfully.

They don't support or promote their best and competent hands. it's ends up as selfish agendas.

I sincerely hope this can change.

I think all regions should have their own development commission.

Every region has its own peculiar problems.

Even north central development commission will be a good idea.
