I expected tinubu to win the north east narrowly or lose narrowly.i expected him to at least win 3 states.atiku had no right to win yobe nor get 25% in borno.i predicted that he would lose gombe and struggle in Bauchi due to Kwankwaso strength while struggling in taraba and winning adamawa naturally.
Shockingly,he won gombe, yobe and dragged borno.the last places I expected him to win in core north was yobe, borno,Kano, zamfara.i wonder what happened in yobe? Did buni and geidam sell out? Why didn't shettima and the kanuris deliver bloc votes from borno like in 2015-2019?

All the win win and lost lost obi won

But bribery won't allow Nigeria to rest
Re: Why Did Atiku Win The North East Massively? by LegendHero(m): 10:35pm On Oct 03, 2023
Simple answer.

Atiku won NE massively because he is from the NE region contesting against a Southerner.

In this last election, the dynamics changed. Governors of a state do not have that 100% ability to influence elections within their domain so a lot of people exercise their own right. So even tho it seems some states are APC, the people went for son of the soil not forgetting that some APC stalwarts betray the party for their own son too. Which is fine.

—Peter ObI won his region massively
—Tinubu won his region with 65%
—Atiku won his region with >60% too

Anything contrary to winning NE for Atiku would have been a disaster to the man.

Obi is a failure like his ancestors Azikiwe, Ekwueme, and Ojuku. They can never win a national election.

Look your Obi, aside the SE where he won massively, he failed to even secure up to 3% in almost all states of the core North.

If not for Christianity, he wouldn’t even secure up to 10% vote in all states of the NC.

I was expecting a clean sweep of Yobe and Borno in particular myself, I wrote a few posts in that regard. I attribute the results in those states primarily to 2 things

1) it is almost impossible to rig. since the introduction of Bvas and voter card reader figures in massively rigged one party states have been going down. Remmember when bayelsa used to post 1m votes 99% for PDp and Rivers and Akwa ibon 2m votes 99% for PDP...all that has stopped. Before you could write results especially in your strongholds but now you have to present actual bodies and the same person cant vote twice because their biometrics are in the INEC database. Remmember what happenned to the ibos who had previously registered in the east and re-registered in Lagos. INEC nullified both registrations...the system will pick it up.

2) the second reason is no matter that Yobe and Borno are APC (ANPP) strongholds, Northern factor will always work in favour of Atiku...that is why those who support Tinubu must be grateful to the rest of the north who delivered their votes for him and didnt play the ethnic card.

Rather than worry why APC didnt sweep Yobe and Borno, celebrate that a southerner got that many votes against a northerner in the North. Celebrate that unlike our brothers from the SE, the North did not play the ethnic card.

Buhari cabal worked tirelessly to sabotage Tinubu in the north and they succeeded to some extent. Tinubu is indebted to northern governors, they safe him from defeat.

It's one thing to be naturally daft, but adding ignorance to it as an extra topping is a very lethal combination. I don't know which generation you were born into or you're perhaps one of the typically crude thinking and myopic "Ronu" bigots that have polluted our cyberspace...but calling a fantastic aristocrat like the late Sir Alex Ekwueme a failure shows how stupid you are, not sure any man dead or alive in your entire family lineage can measure up to a 1/4 of Ekwueme's achievements. Nigeria probably enjoyed the best dividends of good leadership and democracy under the Shehu Shagari/Ekwueme govt.

I won't even bother replying you about Zik of Africa, thankfully sane and informed African nationalists will always put Zik among the elite class of his time.

I actually expected APC to win massively in Bornu, Yobe and Adamawa states due to gratitude votes for the progress they had been made against the terrorist under Buhari.

In Yobe I learnt people there are pro-PDP and preferred to keep to that pattern. Bornu, with Zulum there, it was a walkover for the APC.

And some persons are still bitter that SE voted Obi massively.

It's easy to understand that this two regions haven't tasted presidency in this dispensation and it's common sense for them to vote their own.

Simple to understand unless you are blind.

Another uninformed Agbado dunce.

So if your unfortunate children asked you why Alex Ekwueme went to prison as a note of historical knowledge, this is the undiluted garbage you will feed them? You can have temerity to call Igbo leaders pathetic yet yorubas have produced more leaders who have disgraced and are still disgracing the image of Nigeria globally. The MKO Abiola your media tried to whitewash as some father of modern democracy in Nigeria was a known smuggler of contraband goods, Fela even sang about him in his popular "International Thief Thief" track. Buruji Kashamu another popular yoruba leader was a convicted drug kingpin, Awolowo went to jail for treason and was responsible along with Akintola for the political upheavals and Operation wetie riots (the first of its kind in Nigeria) that threatened the first republic, the present governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun is a convicted fraudster in the US, Femi Gbajamiabila is another convicted fraudster in the US, to crown it all Tinubu is currently on the hot seat for all sorts of disgraceful acts of national sabotage ranging from falsification of academic records, fake certificates, fake age, drug pushing, we don't even know whether he's male or female anymore. And you have the guts to talk about Igbo leaders?
