There are fears that 55 Chinese sailors have died after their nuclear submarine was apparently caught in a trap intended to ambush US and UK sub-surface vessels, it has been claimed.

The crew are feared to have died from poisoning due to a catastrophic failure of the submarine's oxygen system in August of this year, according to a secret UK report. The captain of the Chinese PLA Navy submarine '093-417' is believed to be among the victims along with 21 other officers on the vessel in the Yellow Sea.

The UK report into the fatal mission notes: "Intelligence reports that on 21st of August there was an onboard accident whilst carrying out a mission in the Yellow Sea.

"Incident happened at 08.12 local resulting in the death of 55 crew members: 22 officers, 7 officer cadets, 9 petty officers, 17 sailors. Dead include the captain Colonel Xue Yong-Peng. Our understanding is death caused by hypoxia due to a system fault on the submarine.

"The submarine hit a chain and anchor obstacle used by the Chinese Navy to trap US and allied submarines. This resulted in systems failures that took six hours to repair and surface the vessel. The onboard oxygen system poisoned the crew after a catastrophic failure."

The Type 093s are one of China's more modern submarines, at 351ft-long and armed with torpedoes, and are known for emitting lower noise levels. It is believed that the sinking happened in waters off China's Shandong Province, reports MailOnline.

A British submariner told the Mail: "It is plausible that this occurred and I doubt the Chinese would have asked for international support for obvious reasons." They went on to say that the submarine's air purifiers and air treatment systems could have 'failed' if the underwater vessel was trapped on the net system and its batteries were running flat, the latter of which was described as a 'plausible' scenario.

The submariner added: "Which would have reverted to secondary systems and subsequently and plausibly failed to maintain the air. Which led to asphyxia or poisoning." They explained how the British have certain kit that absorbs carbon dioxide and creates oxygen in situations like this - and that other nations do not have this type of technology available to them.

No independent confirmation of the suspected loss of the Chinese submarine is currently publicly available. While Beijing has since dismissed open source speculation over the incident as 'completely false'.

The Royal Navy declined to comment on the details inside the highly classified report, which is based on defence intelligence, when approached by the Mirror.

With foreign intelligence, China doesn’t have a choice. Foreign intelligence told the world that Russia was going to invade Ukraine months ahead of time and predicted the actual invasion days before. They were only off by a few hours and you guys said that Russia would never allow that kind of news to be out. Western nations budget millions for intelligence and that’s done for a reason.

wise up bro, everybody knows that Russia will send boots to Ukraine, west and Ukraine failed to uphold the Minsk agreement, the burning of over 100 Russian speakers in Odessa, building of defense networks by NATO terrorist in Ukraine, participation of Ukraine in all NATO led terrorist activities including the invasion of Libya and Iraq, with all these Ukraine have crossed all red lines, if you know the story of Azov battalion's in collaboration with blackwater mercenaries (academi) and their war crimes against Russian speakers you won't be saying these, so these is not intelligent matter ok, the handwriting is boldly written on the wall,

There is no credible source to this post and beside it says August of this year. We are still in the first half of this year so it's most likely an old news.

The op didn't post the source of the news and I'm not subjected not to point that out, and it also gave me the right to question it's credibility, if you have any problem with that I would appreciate it if you can help the op and post the source of the news.
