Like it or not. Insult if you like.
There's a reason Africa doesn't grow, and it's not because of colonialism. Africa is underdeveloped because of the shortsightedness of the typical African, who doesn't see beyond his/her personal prosperity and that of the immediate family. That is the only political ideology that sells in Nigeria. "Favour me and my family"
Lord Lugard recognized this over a century ago. Yes, he judged you accurately!

I dont know how Lugard knew all this and still went on with the amalgamation

He must have known that bringing Igbos, Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani together in one country was a recipe for disaster

Slave mentality, how can you take what a man that came to subjugate, loot and plunder you serious?

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery.
Only problem is that lugard never said anything. It's the cannibal people from that part of Nigeria creating rubbish in their mind as usual.

I just want to PUKE when I read you ignorant, colonised PEABRAINS talking out of your BACKSIDES on what you know NOTHING about.

The ''typical African'' of course EXCLUDES YOU doesn't it?

For all you PEABRAIN QUACKS who come in here with your discredited racial inferiority nonsense it is ALWAYS OTHER BLACKS that are somehow ''defective''.

NEVER YOU or your kids or parents or siblings.

You haven't the slightest FUCKING CLUE why ''Africa is underdeveloped''.

Your head is EMPTY of your history as an African.

I can almost swear you've never read ONE book on African history.

Replacing your IGNORANCE with racist anti-African prejudice and garbage is unacceptable.

If you KNEW your history, and had basic common sense, you would know that personal selfishness is not a uniquely 'African trait', but is very much a worldwide phenomenon, that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the colour of a person's skin, any more than a white cat is less selfish than a black cat.

People in Botswana and Rwanda are ''typical Africans'', yet Russia and Ukraine are far more corrupt than Botswana and Rwanda.

While millions of Russians struggle to put food on the table, their leader, Vladimir Putin, a WHITE MAN IN CASE YOU FORGOT, lives the life of an emperor, owning multiple luxury mansions, yachts, and jets, and is said to be worth over 600 BILLION DOLLARS.

Kim Jong Un of North Korea lives like an emperor, and builds nuclear bombs to protect himself and his humungous wealth, while his people rely on western food aid.

Even in the USA the wealth inequality is HORRENDOUS, with 5% of the population owning 70% of the country's wealth.

The ONLY REASON the so called white countries APPEAR to have more 'honest' and 'selfless' leaders is because their countries have STOLEN SO MUCH FROM THE WORLD, over SEVERAL CENTURIES, that they can AFFORD to make life liveable for their majority, even after establishing their internal CLASS separation via inherited wealth and aristocracy.

Countries like NIGERIA have only THEIR GOD GIVEN WEALTH to harness. They don't have THE WHOLE EARTH to themselves as the whites did for centuries after discovering gunpowder and using firearms to loot the world.

All humans are fundamentally selfish and self-serving. It is where your history has placed you as a nation that will determine the manner in which such selfish mentalities manifest in your country.

Okay.
After he spent 2 or 3 decades carefully studying your forefathers and how they behave. Only when you accept your shortcomings you can improve yourself.

You are very stupid.

Did it ever occur to your thick skull why exactly we should believe a SINGLE WORD spoken about us by people who invaded our land, mass murdered our ancestors, looted our resources, and then found ways to justify their atrocities?

Your ancient treasures which they STOLE after SHOOTING DEAD your ancestors, sit in their BARBAROUS museums in LONDON TODAY - the same people whose 'Lugard' is telling YOU what is supposedly ''wrong'' with YOU. Not with them, but YOU.

And you are accepting it.

Can't you see you are stupid?

It is a known fact that empty heads speak loudest. And that is why you degrade to "argument against the man" in attempt to drive in a fallacy.
The day a mad man realizes he is mad he becomes well. That day has not come for you yet.

Was it not African kings and warriors that made slave trade to thrive by continuously selling their brothers in exchange for firearms, fabrics and mirrors??
Did kings not betray other kings for the white man to run their armies over? For perks!
You can conquer armies and kings but you can't successfully rule over unwilling people. Read why Afghanistan wasn't successfully colonized. Read the Indian history too. Compare what is wrong with Africa.

The true failure is the man who blames another man for making him fail.
Since the Brits left totally in 1963 what did we achieve as a nation? We plunged into civil war (back to square one), and then decades of endless tribalism and nepotism without any development. Which even gets worse recently.
The country is retrogressing and what everyone does is to rant "Yoruba" and "Ipob" and "Aboki". My tribe must be president, my cousin must be senator. The governor must come from my local govt. MOST FAIL TO SEE THE BIG PICTURE.
But all you want to do is blame the white man for your woes.
Take responsibility for your life and country, Slowpoke.

Listen carefully to "see you when you get there" by Coolio.

Totally agree with you. Why don't u ignore the messenger and focus on the message? Dispute what he said about the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Ndigbo?

Anything the colonial thieves said was from a point of manipulation and selfish interest, therefore not fact or from truth perspective, therefore invalid.

I have searched this and I never saw any where where Lord lugard mentioned all of this in his book. However,I have stopped believing what people say about others since I realised the kind of country I found myself.

It takes a fool to accept every rubbish names his enemy or adversary calls him.

Don't ever live ur life based on mischievous and dubious saying of a criminal minded Lugard who only came to Africa to exploit our ancestors.

If at all what he said about hausa, igbo or yorubas are true, what then do u call a colonialist? God sent right?

Those people were more greedy than the entire Nigerians

He actually did. Go check lagos, ibadan or Kaduna archives you will see related original manuscript there. Or goggle 'dual mandate' by lugard.

What then do we call Lord Lugard...a god sent?

He was a criminal colonialist whose greed for self gratification knew no bounds, hence selling Nigeria as an entity to the British government.
