The world knows Lionel Messi for his uncommon wizardry on the football pitch. I doubt that's about the only thing he can do very well. There are certainly many other things he can do, but that's what we know him best for and that's what we love him the most for. Mention soccer and his name will inevitably crop on.

Michael Jackson, though late, is still known chiefly for his musical prowess.

Oprah Winfrey is celebrated for her expertise in attention arbitrage. One appearance on her show have been known to make people "blow."

Our very own Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is known all around the world for her pen and her adroit use of words.

The world reckons with Robert Kiyosaki for his ability to provoke to life people's financial genius and spur them into establishing for themselves a life of financial security.

It knows Og Mandino for his knack for making men believe in themselves and how that faith can push them to go the extra mile to achieve success in any undertaking.

It identifies with Ben Carson for his miracle-working hands that have given a fresh lease of life to hapless children once condemned by other experts to death. It applauds him for his daring confidence in trying surgical procedures others wouldn't dare and for his inspiring life that have left a huge impact on so many people in all walks of life.

The list stretches on and on. The world doesn't need to know us for many things. All we need do is unearth that peculiar grace, that unique skill that proves to be our Midas Touch, focus with laser-beam intensity on fine-tuning and polishing the skill, and then using it to serve our world.

It's time to stop playing trial-and-error, time to stop dispersing our efforts about, time to stop tasting every new venture we hear about. Find your Midas Touch, and give your whole attention, time, efforts and resources to building.

Here's to your success.
