Oshomoile...strict man.
Sentiments aside these governors should do what's expected of them as a deterrent for others. They should not worry about weather the judges got it right or not. That's not their problem. They are just lily livered.
Many of them does not want blood on their hand but they have hitmen who can do the dirty job for them when needed.
The youths should use their head.

It has nothing to do with family at the top, it's a simple case of nobody wants to sign a death warrant. When I heard the news yesterday that was what crossed my mind.

Another good reason to avoid wahala.

If dem kpai you, there's no guarantee that your murderer will be killed as well.

He languishes in prison for 10, 20 or 30 years waiting for the day there'll be a jailbreak then escapes to Benin republic or Cameroon.

Then repents, is forgiven by God and turns a new leaf.

You see am say you die for nothing.

then we should scrap the death penalty and replace it with life imprisonment. At the end of the day death penalty will eventually lead to life imprisonment

We should actually change that Law that says a Govornor should be the one to give the final go ahead

Actually, as long as you have exhausted your appeals to the latter which is going as far as the supreme court. They shouldn't wait for any Govornor again as Democratic Govornors tend to shy away from it. Na Military Govornors no send

Anyways,if na me be Govornor o. I for don give the go ahead for some very terrible cases. I won't care. If a Reverend King type of situation comes up,omo I go give the go ahead.

As for those saying the Death sentence is wrong, stop playing. If you kill person, they should also kill you back too ni

No time!

i dont even know my stand on the matter

first let Nigeria train it officer on anger management so any officer that still kills should be killed

second let us guide our utterance, my father will say dont argue with a man that have a gun if you yourself did not have a gun. no matter what happens police cant shoot me, some people especially women dont know how to address police, and this thing we do hear we cant try it in usa, for example ordinary resist arrest or put your hand where i can see them and you refuse they have right to kill you. if police stop you stop, if they insult you say yes sir, if they say come out of your vehicle come out the highest they will do wont be up to 24hours

i begin fear law since they day i heard if you claim in court that anger made you do something and the court can pardon you or be linient

Killing him wont bring the lady back. I do not support police Violence before anyone mentions me. But hanging him won’t even bring closure to the family. You could give him life imprisonment and the Judge could ask him to apologize to the family of the lady… that way, they may find closure.

Before you start mentioning me, most states in US are against Death Penalty.

Even if I was the Governor, I would never sign another man’s death except he is a rapist or a terrorist.

Before you start mentioning me, go and watch the video of the truck driver in the USA. They lost his brakes and ran into people on the high way. He was intially sentenced to death. He read his apologies in tears to the family of those that died.

Can you believe the whole town staged a peaceful protest asking the Mayor to reduce his life sentence.

Guess what, it was reduced to 10 or 15yrs.

Why in haste to send them to eternal journey. Those years in death row will be used to prepare them for the journey after life. The life itself will be meaningless for them and they will be jealous for the dead.

I don't blame the governors. I will never have a hand in the execution of another human being. To do so will stain oneself with the guilt of murder. The natural law of sowing and reaping will come into effect whether we know it or not. Therefore the death sentence should be abolished. Murderers are best incarcerated for life. I will recommend a correctional center kept for only people who have killed their fellow human being.

Life is better for some clearly public known crime as bandit, kidnapping gang, armed robbery gang, terrorist, law enforcement agents murdering the citizens
Leaders who commits genocide through whatever means such as embezzlement and intimidation or suppression of fact and truth are to be sentence to death, lawyers who technically support evil be it in criminal or liberal matters death all the way.
Any gender exploiter death all the way.
High common fraud should carry life, Because they have also destroyed lives.
The Truth is the Justice system is the governing authorities of our existence so signing death warrant is the most important part of governorship and also proof the one occupying the sir is working to keep the state in order and that it's not just ceremonial or title, they have to show they are involved in the almost insignificant part and happenings in their state.
Leadership is killing who/ what need to be killed, cutting to size what need to be cut, etc.
Let me quote a scripture here :Jeremiah 15:1-3
[1]Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
[2]And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
[3]And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

Meaning what I said above example is all the touts and miscreants take them to farms, iron ore fields, rock breaking sites and make them do what you could have use heavy machinery to accomplish. Simply put turning their negative energy to positive use.
Seizure and forfeiture of properties is another major brain resetting format.
I am boldly telling anyone who care to listen evil generally will literally disappear.
