After the removal of subsidy, life has become incredibly challenging for us Nigerian students. I fondly reminisce about the days when I could save up from my parents' meager pocket money. I long for the times when I could buy a 200 naira plate of rice or soup and feel fully satisfied. I miss the days when taking a bike to school cost only 100 naira. Nowadays, I have to spend 800 naira on a meal every single day, and we don't have the option to even cook in the hostel.

Imagine spending 500 naira on a mudu of garri in the market and then going to the market with as much as 20,000 naira, only to return with just a small bag of groceries. The costs of buying books and printing copies have also become exorbitant.

Education has become a costly endeavor, and even after graduating, there's no guarantee of securing a well-paying job. I am deeply dissatisfied with the current state of Nigeria. The challenges are not distant; they are very much a part of our daily lives.

Tinubu is working very hard to provide the student loans he promised.

Today, naira is exchanging for 300 to the USD just as he promised.

Be patient, Tinubu will rescue Nigeria.

Tinubu till 2031

Tribalism007:
Tinubu's fault,
Everything isn't tinubu's fault o. There is a global trend of inflation and we all know the world is global village. Though Tinubu is severely messing up.

(N.B...I agree with you the economy is in a mess, and I agree with you that APC is responsible).

But those days that we were eating rice for N200, I can remember people talking about the times when rice cost N1.50.

(I can even recall a time when I was in a cafeteria from 2004, and saw an old price list from the 1980's. Rice plate: 75 KOBO. ).

As someone has said earlier...the economy back then was bad. People were complaining 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 40 years ago.

As for subsidy.....let us assume we kept the subsidy of 2010..when fuel cost N65.

In December 2011, landing cost was N99

Today it is N720.

Cost of subsidy would have gone up from N34 per liter to N660 per liter by now.

All to keep fuel at N65

Guess where they would have gotten the money from to pay the extra subsidy cash? The budget. Guess where they would get money to cover the resulting deficit...More loans.

All I know is, if subsidy had gone in 1993, we would be reaping the benefits.

You people came out for Mohbad in thousands but won't come out to protest against bad policies affecting your daily lives. Continue to wail online.
