To be able to make Amazon KDP a consistent and reliable source of income, these are what you have to do:

1. The more books you write and publish the greater your chances of making daily sales. So, be a prolific writer and publisher. Also ensure your books appeals to global audience.
2. Don't see Amazon KDP as a rich quick scheme but rather as an additional stream of income and hence be resilient in working at it by writing and publishing more books. Also use social media platforms like Facebook to occasionally promote your books through its book groups.

If you are just starting a publishing career, I advice you take it slowly and stage by stage too. There is really no good reason to go and produce paperbacks of your first book for either local distribution or international distribution through Amazon KDP/Creatspace. Doing that will overwhelm you and can lead to frustration if things did not favour you.

It is therefore important to first publish it as an eBook and if it picks up well in sales, you can then plan and produce a print version of it (paperback) later.
