A time came in Nigeria about 18 Generals of Yoruba extraction were languishing in jail at such time the yorubas were busy doing what they know how to do best , waiting for another Nzeogwu to strike whom they would betray. little wonder yorubas of all Nigerian southern tribes are not willing to seccede from nigeria.

what is the basis of comparison? General Diya was a career General (I doudt if he won or even fought any battle), he wasn't fighting for anyone when he was arrested. and who told you Ghaddafi did not beg his captors, ? He was hiding in a drainage. it tells one thing that no matter how strong a man appears, he doesn't want to die.

I think the questions should be, how successful is a leader without successor? Gaddaffi tried for his nation but failed to think of thursday Oct 20, 2011. A day when all ended for him. In 42 years he had not succeeded in raising another Gaddaffi even among his children. what if he had died a sudden death, the chaos now would have happened even without a fight, because he never planned for the future, that is the problems of most African leaders, they forget death. The likes of Paul Biya, Robert Mugabe, have  alesson to learn if truly they are fighting for their people and not their selfish ambition (to die in power).

Gaddafi went down and took the whole of Libya with him, today Libya 'will' never be the same. That in my opinion is not the best he could do if he had the good of Libyans at heart.

There is no bases for comparison . Crying Gen Diya was a disappointment to his people. the only opportunity he had to make history was wasted shedding crocodile tears. African Soldier Ghadafi stood for the african identity .

Osama would have begged for his life if he had the opportunity, Gaddaffi also did but was killed despite of that.

Note that Diya was supposed to be a General, supposedly tested in resilience and subterfuge and he also was much older in age - they say wisdom comes with age

Ojukwu was a mere Colonel and also a young man with a lot of potential for juvenile delinquency

Diya, a ''General'', bowed, begged and cried before one single individual, a mere Major

Ojukwu, one single individual, ran away from 10s of 1000s of soldiers bent on killing him and his people

If I recollect very well, Diya did not actually cry, but he was on his knees begging Al Mustapha for his life.
