I'm a Strong Tinubuist and a die-hard APC. But have chosen to speak out against any attempt to relegate APC members in the South East to the background.

Earlier today, the president of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio announced Senator Lola Ashiru as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate a position that was originally zoned to the Southeast.

Senator Lola Ashiru is the Senator Representing Kwara South Senatorial District.

Since the announcement, all media platforms have been awash pointing accusing fingers at the leadership of APC.

After the Senate plenary today, 18/10/ 2023 an APC Senator from the North Central who does not want his name to be mentioned was seen saying the people of Southeast need to come together against this relegation by the APC leadership. He further stated “Despite the abysmal performance of the people of the Southeast during the 2023 election. I'm aware several Igbos put their lives on the line to support and protect APC votes in the zone, therefore they deserve to be given a sense of belonging rather than what we are witnessing currently”

The announcement by Senator Godswill Akpabio has been raising dust on various media platforms. People thought that Senator Lola Ashiru who was supposedly the deputy chief Whip of the Senate ought to have been allowed to enjoy his previous position while the replacement of Senator Davi Umahi as the Deputy Majority Leader returned to the Southeast zone.
The leadership of APC should take cognizance of federal character in the sharing formula for political positions in our great party APC.

The Senate Deputy Majority Leader that was originally zoned to the Southeast while the former occupant was in the seat ought not to have been tampered with by the leadership of APC. We are of the APC political party and we will continue to remain one. We have sworn to be loyal and law-abiding to our APC but things must be done equitably.

Senator Dave Umahi resigned his position from the Senate following his pronouncement as the Minister of Works by the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

For the interest of chatter of equity. It is expected that the leadership of APC will return the position to the South East.

All indications show the leadership of APC is not bothered about the adverse effects of some of these sensitive decisions.

The people of South East were expecting that their Position be given back to them either through Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Patrick Nwabueze, Senator Orji Kalu, or even Senator Ifeanyi Uba, who newly joined the APC.

The APC leadership has continued to give the people of Southeast East a reason to reject our great party APC in the face of our hard-earned struggle. The APC members from the Southeast are appealing and craving for inclusivity. The people of south East need convincing reasons to embrace our party. Let our party desist from further damage from the much we have achieved already for the party. The hatred among Nigerian people has continued to increase every day that passes due to the attitude of the leadership.

Nigerian people deserve to be united like other countries.
