What’s the Role?

This is a hybrid role that provides technical data management support services to the Reservoir Engineering and Production Technology disciplines. It leverages a comprehensive understanding of Reservoir data types (e.g., reservoir pressure, PVT, well status, etc.) and a deep insight into relevant (subsurface) business workflows for effective data management. This position offers a distinctive and exciting opportunity for data management professionals to apply Technical Data Management (TDM) principles to RE/PT workflows with a focus on the efficient handling of raw and interpreted RE/PT data, including data gathering, quality checks, and storage.

Key Responsibilities

Collecting, formatting, loading, and managing RE/PT data into appropriate master and corporate data repositories following Shell’s global standards.
Collaborating with RE/PT Workflow consultants to provide necessary data management inputs to support short-term oil generation activities, well optimization, BHP proposals, and participation in the ARRP process, among other tasks.
Utilizing IT Data Analytics tools to periodically analyze reservoir dynamics, generate reliable production forecasts based on available data to support Res/PTs.
Continually seeking digitalization and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Coordinating with the WRFM TDM consultant to set up, deploy, and use PVT Geomark for managing PVT data.
Establishing and implementing data management tools, standards, and processes to facilitate the smooth operation of RE/PT data in SCiN.
Providing expert support and execution for the import, export, and quality control of major RE/PT data types, including WRFM and PVT models in support of subsurface interpretation and modeling.
Offering expert data management analysis to address complex data quality issues and perform advanced data manipulation while monitoring and maintaining RE/PT data loading KPIs.
Collaborating with the discipline and providing technical assurance to address TDM actions in AIMS.
Managing RE/PT data, including reservoir pressure data, and serving as the SCiN Focal Point for the SIESTA database.
Updating, quality-checking, and maintaining the SCiN hydrocarbon production database (Volts) to ensure timely reporting of monthly hydrocarbon production aggregates.
What We Need From You

Applicants for this position are typically expected to possess proven working experience in the EP (Exploration and Production) business, in addition to the following qualifications and skills:

A university degree in a technical discipline (especially Petroleum Engineering) or Physical Sciences. (A strong IT background or a background as a geoscientist/geophysicist would be an added advantage)
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
A mandatory background in the Oil and Gas industry.
Experience as a data manager and/or petroleum engineer with exposure to subsurface data would be a valuable asset.
Proficiency in E&P data types, particularly geological and geophysical data, and work practices acquired through subsurface domain experience.
Excellent communication and leadership skills conducive to building a shared vision and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
Applying petroleum engineering domain knowledge to assist engineers in accessing and utilizing PT, RE, and WRFM critical data and relevant standard applications.
Proficiency in developing and managing digital dashboards in Sharepoint and PowerBI.
