Reno Blames Nigeria's Economic Downturn On Nigerians Inability To Patronize GLO by DamnnNiggarr: 10:48am On Oct 20, 2023 |
MTN Nigeria alone has 76.7 million people using their SIM cards. Airtel has an additional 57 million users. How can 133 million Nigerians use foreign GSM carriers, yet you want the Naira to rise? Think about it. 133 million people are sending their money to South Africa and India EVERY SINGLE DAY. Nigerians are why those countries have strong economies. If those 133 million Nigerians switch today to Glo, the Naira will IMMEDIATELY rise by over 50%. It is not just about Tinubu. You, as a citizen of Nigeria, have a role to play in your country's progress. Nigeria is like a cow that everybody is milking and nobody is feeding. Buy made in Nigeria, and your Naira will be great in Nigeria! https://twitter.com/renoomokri/status/1715293474709193014?t=L8rbznZ2ev_gphNnl1g1ZQ&s=19 Mynd44 nlfpmod 4 Likes 2 Shares

Reno should think before raising up any issues. He is blaming Nigerians for using MTN & Airtel without first of all finding out how most Nigerians see Glo Last year I ported from Glo to Airtel due to Glo’s very poor internet service that’s not only horrible most times but annoying that you use your hard earned money to buy data and when it comes to usage the data goes to sleep Even at times you get messages that your data is finished and that you should recharge when you know that you did not even use the data as a result of very bad network Besides is Reno not aware that the National Assembly bought 350 SUV or thereabout for 160m naira each from a foreign company when we have car manufacturing companies both in SW & SE hypocrites Reno needs to be rehabilitated fast before he enters market 23 Likes 1 Share |

GLO would rather seize to exist than to upgrade their network, they would instead spend heavily on celebs(ambassadors). Did Reno Omokri not know that if GLO could not handle their current customer base, that it will be near impossible for them to do that when over 130 million people switch to GLO. For all I know, Nigerians have been using MTN and Airtel as far back as early 2000s, and their usage of the networks did not make the economy as bad as it is now. So, I don't know where Reno got the assumption that the economy will jump by 50% back to life. 4 Likes |

If 133 million subscribers switches to glo, naira will rise by 50%? Wetin reno smoke? Same glo that will still pay for fuel to power sites, and also pay the likes of ATC and IHS (foreign companies) for service support? Smh Anyways, twerk harder. The hustle is real 5 Likes 1 Share |

Such emotional blackmail won't work A good product sells itself, let glo live to its responsibilities, Nigerians are proud people and would always support their own, but we want value for money Let them do this and watch the competition fade out naturally 4 Likes |

Not the cluelessness, incompetency or ineptitude of the seating government any more. Is GLO the only organisation in the telecommunication sector contributing to the Nigerian economy? Always wanting to trend for the wrong reason. 2 Likes |

Ttalk:All na hustle at least his still paying his bills. But seriously he has point although poor illustration, if other Nigerian investors can team up and invest competitively against the MTN , Airtel etc it will help reduce the pressure on Naira. The falling of naira is our problem and we contributed by patronizing foreign wares and products excessively, we are buying things that we can grow in gardens e.g pepper, onion, spinach , vegetables etc If we stop buying all this thing's the farmers can export them , there by strengthen the naira locally. Schools and Churches should start bringing backs farms , all this real estate companies in the cities and urban areas should start having small farms and use fruit trees as there beautification. If we stop buying too much from the market, the farmers will have enough to export and earn foreign exchange . It will reduce the pressure on Men and families expenses. |

Reno Omonkey. Foreign investments exists in most top economies. Why should that of Nigeria be an exception? MTN employs many Nigerians. MTN pays taxes to Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |

This Reno is very lame, see analogy Shey na MTN stop the federal Govt from developing in Human Resources, strengthening the naira am making local production viable Na MTN stop federal govt from providing electricity that could reduce cost of production in Nigeria Is it MTN that stops federal govt from revitalizing the local refineries, that could have provided thousands of jobs and out end to fuel importation as an oil producing country 1 Like 1 Share |

Misleading title. He blames it on Nigeria's desire for foreign products. The hlo example was just an analogy. His closing statement: Nigeria is like a cow that everybody is milking and nobody is feeding. BUY MADE IN NIGERIA, and your Naira will be great in Nigeria! Unfortunately, even the Nigerian government is not buying made in Nigeria themselves. E.g the SUVs purchased for lawmakers are not Nigerian made. |

Glo is not a good example due to their poor network. But the fact remains that Nigerians voracious appetite for foreign imports is hurting their pockets in many ways, without them realising. They want the government to pluck dollars from trees or put a printing machine in Aso Rock and start printing dollars. We need to produce more of what we eat and use., and sell as much as possible to other countries. That's the way to increase the value of the Naira, and everyone needs to contribute. It is not about government, government, government. Until we do these things, no hope for the Naira. |

DamnnNiggarr: While there’s no guarantee that the naira would rise by 50% or even rise at all because of this singular act, the question is how can we as citizens help? Can making Glo our primary lines lead to more quality service from them and in turn more revenue and better Naira valuation? What other ways can we help ourselves? |

As at today people are begging to buy dollar at 1150/1180, how would the average Nigerian survive if this keeps us?? Even if you don’t like Reno there’s some sense in what he’s saying, patronize the local brands help Nigerian in your own way. |
