The New Testament (Brit Hadasha) speaks often about this being the last days. If the Apostles lived in the last days and we claim to still be living in the last days, then what in the world are the last days, and how long does the "last days" last?

God did His creating of this world and all that is within it in 6 days. On the 7th day He rested from all of His creative works. In Hebrew eschatology there are 6 days of man and the 7th day is the final day of Messiah and His Kingdom.

The Scriptures record that "a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day".

(2 Peter 3:8, Psalm 90:4) With this in mind there will be 6000 days of man and then 1000 years of a Messianic Kingdom.

Messiah was born and lived during the 4th day, or during the 4000 year period after creation. The 5th and 6th days, 5000 and 6000 years after creation, represent the 5th and the 6th day, or the "last days". After this will come the 7th and final day of this age, or 7000 years after creation, in which Messiah will return and usher in His utopian Kingdom. We know that there have been over 2000 years since the birth of Messiah. There has not been quite 2000 years since His ministry/crucifixion and resurrection. While we don't know exactly when He will return, we should be able to see that we are living in the 11th hour.

The last days are definitely drawing to a close.

Last days are a series of escathological events that'll herald the advent of messiah then the judgement day especially in the Abraham religions.

But I say they are all made up stories to keep adherents in check and also in fear which is one of the tools used in staying in business.

Without last days, no one will care about the three Abraham religions.

What about the prophecies that have been happening and more to come to pass?

I would have engaged you in a further discuss but apparently you lack the capacity to engage people holding opposing views to yours without degenerating into insults and name calling.

Where does the bible teach that the world and everything in it was created within six 24-hour days?

Do you want to bet that 2030-2033 will come and go and you'll still be talking of last days merely shifting the goalposts to some new date calculation?

@OP.
Please enlighten me: when you say "last day"; what are you referring to?
Last days of mankind, last days of planet earth, last days of the milky way, last days of Judaism, last days of Christianity.....

Last days sounds very ubiquitous to me.

Thanks.

But you used his lifetime to do the calculation.

Jesus Christ said a lot about the last days but if you're not a studious scholar many things will confuse you.

The reason behind Jesus' ministry is the gather faithful people throughout the earth under one umbrella {Isaiah 2:2-4} that's what Jesus' ministry must accomplish as the Prince of Peace {Isaiah 9:6} all the prophecies about the last days will come to fulfilment when those accomplishing what is written in that prophecy regarding peacemaking {Micah 4:3} are found in all the earth! Matthew 24:14 compare to Act 1:8
Surely they will be outnumbered by people who are only calling Jesus Lord Lord but not ready to make peace {Matthew 7:21} Jesus said only those doing the will of his father will be allowed to live forever! Matthew 7:22-23

Can you see the group that's making peace in all the earth without using weapons today? Matthew 5:9

If so then the end is closer than the time Jesus of Nazareth and John the baptist said:

The kingdom of heaven is at hand! Matthew 3:2; 4:17 smiley

That means we need at least get to year 3,000 or 3001, before all these may come to pass following what I wrote up their by God's 7 day timeline... But I'm not into that... What I'm after is doing what God wants, evangelize the good news of Jesus Christ, have the power in Jesus to tread upon serpents and scorpions and all power of the enemy, and finally when I leave this doomed world,be in the Lord's Army

Check WEF agenda 2030. The ground work has already been done to usher in the antichrist and his new world order later 2030. There is no more time, we are in the last days already. They only need a shock event to implement it.
