This should be sponsored by a company or companies...we shouldnt be using state resources for all these at this time. If BBNaija can get sponsors...lets get sponsors for Yam Festivals too lol

Anambra New yam festival took place on the 21st of October 2023. Prominent Anambralians including the State Governor professor Chukwuma Soludo and traditional rulers from different towns in Anambra State were in attendance.

That occasion gulped millions of naira, yet the yam produced was never done by the State Government. Yet the State spent millions of naira to celebrate yam produced not up to 1 hectare.
The state government is always mad on frivolousness. Can't engage in any developmental stride that outlives them.

Complete waste of scarce resources!

There is time for everything and this is not the time for a responsible government to be wasting millions on frivolity. This would have been a good showcase to promote the Igbo culture and values if the economy was ok and insecurity was not ravaging everywhere but just go and see the quote that would be given for conducting this thing that has no economic value apart from giving the politicians a blank cheque to quote whatever they like. They cost it took to organize this would have bought at least 15suv for security and fuel them for at least a month. We need leaders that think

I don't know what you hope to gain by telling all these lies

1. It is obvious you are not Yoruba. I believe you are Igbo but trying to pass off as a Yoruba to help your claim that IIGB0S don't practice cannibalism
2. Cannibalism is rife in that region particularly in areas called Isiala-Ngwa north/south and a host of other remote communities
3. Only a very wicked and evil person will deny such barbaric act knowing fully well it is still being practiced. We try to warn people to be careful how they move in those areas so that they will not fall into the hands of human hunters who eat people. Do you even know how many corpers are lost to cannibals in the SE every year at all. Don't you even feel for the parents and family member of the victims?

I don't need to join issues with someone like you because I don't engage in childish and irrelevant arguments, but let me tell a little about myself.
I am from Abeokuta but born and raised in Ijebu-Ode all in Ogun state 54 years ago. I lived almost 25 years of my life in SE and SS.
I don't know how old you are or how vast you have traveled but you don't come here to stereotype people. I am not here to defend any tribe or Igbos but I hate when people stereotype! A lot of people do that on this forum.
Ritual killings is very common in Yoruba land (where I came from) but does that mean all Yorubas are ritualists?
Some wicked people are in the bush killing and eating people, does that mean all Igbos are cannibals? You are not the one to lecture me about anywhere or any tribe in Nigeria, I have traveled far and wide. I am not a spring chicken!
As for my origin that I told you over there you are free to believe it or not it doesn't bother me, after all this is a faceless forum and of course NL. Have a nice day.
