Is Carlcare A Scam; My Carlcare Experience. by PrinceJoeWan(m): 1:49pm On Oct 23, 2023
Good afternoon my Nlanders,
My phone suddenly started rebooting and I had to take it to Carlcare because I was sure it was a software related issue.
Getting there I noticed that there were a lot of people of people waiting for their phones and it's only those that are "connected" or "willing to pay extra" that gets special attention.
I was told the issue was battery related although I objected but being left with no option I told them to proceed. They wanted to scan the phone to know the cost of battery but the technician later said that a new battery has been tested but the issue persisted so I was told to wait while they "run software" which is to flash the phone [ I agreed to this].
While waiting another lady came in with same issue on her new phone, she paid N9,600 for a new battery collected her phone and left.
A lady also complained that after she did screen replacement her battery started having issues, she also paid for another battery again.
Back to my case, they said they worked on the charging I.C or something like that it didn't yield any positive result. I went there past 1PM and few minutes past 6 they came back and said my phone is now working and I have to pay 1k for flashing and N3.5k for charging I.C
I paid collected my phone and left but now I the phone is no longer charging.
Now my question is if we have to pay for every single service rendered by Carlcare what is the use of the warranty?
Right now I can't go back there because I do not trust the technicians and going there would even be more expensive than going to a roadside technician.
Someone should explain to me maybe there is something I am not understanding.
Note: THIS WOULD BE MY LAST TRANSISSION PHONE!

Sorry for everything o, but it's not enough reason for not wanting to use the brand again.

Other brands may likely have the same issues too.

The issue is the service delivery and then the country sef, everyone is trying to survive sha.

They do anything and everything to survive.

The structure or service provider may not even know.

Thank you very much sir,
Such issues are not common with brands like Samsung, imagine the number of people who came to report software related issues and not hardware and you still have to pay for their services, It's just bewildering.

Thank you very much, you just did a summary of what I had in mind.
There's is no need responding to the previous post who are pointlessly trying to defend Carlcare without addressing the issue on ground. I guess they are just trying to defend their stomach, so it's understandable.

if you've been on nairaland for a while, you will know some accounts that defend some particular companies without addressing main issues

Have been here for a very long time but I seriously don't have time to take note of such accounts but by their posts we shall know them.
Thanks

The troubling encounter at Carlcare, rife with favoritism, recurring issues post-service payments, and skepticism towards technical reliability, undermines the warranty's essence, fostering a profound distrust in the service provider and reluctance to seek future assistance.
