You know there's this saying that juju/Metaphysics isn't real, well I have witnessed a real one.... Twice

The first time, I was in a fake uni around Ife, Osun state

I stayed in a hostel, in my room, we were 3 occupants, there was my friend Godwin and I there was a short Delta guy from Sagamu, lets call him John, he was born and bred in Sagamu, short guy but very tough. We were close.

He personally told me some of the atrocities he had participated in, and yeah he wasn't lying. He was my guy. Very diabolical. He has a lot of charms.

I didn't know if those charms worked but I saw one work one day.
Honestly speaking...

There's one juju that Yoruba call 'Owo' (Respect, Regard)

It is usually an amulet to be worn on the body as ring or bead. They don't ever use it in incisions, e get why.

The why is that it has advantages and disadvantages.

Owo is a charm for protection, if you wear it and you were in a gathering and suddenly something terrible happens, you will escape unhurt or be excluded.

The downside is that, if it's anything good happening too, you will be excluded as well

It's just like you will become invisible.

One day....

So one day

We had a fresher's party

Three of us went there, all freshers had contributed about 2k for the party and it was hosted at a hotel belonging to our school owner, you are entitled to food and drinks, alcoholic or non.

Before we left home, John wore a lot of juju under his clothes, he ate some, he rubbed some on his head, he blew some into the air at the backyard where we used to smoke Igbo wink
✌️

He was just initiated into NBM that time, so he goes out prepared because our school wasn't far from OAU Ife and anything can sup anytime.

There was a particular amulet he wore on his bicep.
I knew that was Owo (Regard).

I had mixed feelings. If u happen to sit beside or just be around someone wearing Owo. The effects will dawn on u too particularly if u knew about it. It kind of works in a radius.

At the party sha, in short, they started sharing booklets and paraphernalias, they overlooked us.

They shared Rice, they carry am pass our head serve everyone around us. Just the three of us.

Drinks too.
Even bottle water. Funny thing is that if we bring it to the usher's attention. They will be like, sorry they are bringing ours now but when they are bringing it, they will serve the other end and before they get to us, the item is finished hmmmm.

As me I no fit waste 2k just like that, na so I stand up go find another place sit down, I no fit tell John make he go remove and hide him juju because that could be dangerous....

I told our other friend to join me but he stayed with John.

Immediately I sat down in another seat far from John where him juju network no fit reach or locate me, na food and drinks then take dey welcome me as if them don dey wait for me.... 😳

In short it's only John and my other friend that were not served anything at that party....

We used to laugh at the memory till we parted ways.

The second time I witnessed Ogume/Juju at work was when my friend Doga, a police officer had an accident on his bike....

So one day
My friend, Sergeant Doga, a junior police officer had an accident on his bike. He was rushed to a nearby hospital.

He was unconscious and bleeding from several places, he needed stitches and the doctors were trying hard to save him but notwithstanding all their efforts to stitch him, i the needles wont penetrate his skin...

From his phone, they got a neighbours number and called him to inform him of Doga's situation.

This neighbour came to inform another friend who called me along to the hospital...

At the hospital, we witnessed the odd scenario because the doctor let us into the emergency room as he was perplexed and lost at what to do. The doctor didn't know his name.

Sergeant Doga wasn't responsive as we tried to call him even shouting into his ear.

Sometimes he will answer from a dark long distance.

We knew he had a charm on him that didnt allow the needle to penetrate but we wanted to know how to stop it's effect so that they can stitch him up.

Two rings were removed from his fingers.

I just moved closer and inspected his toes, there was a ring he wore on one of his toes.

I said a little apprehensive prayer into my palm and removed it.

The stitching proceeded smoothly henceforth.

He came about some minutes later.

He said he was answering us all the while we were calling him, and was even telling us to remove the rings especially the one on his toe 😳

He didn't know we couldn't hear him, he thought we could.

That juju was given to him in his town, Ijebu. A potent charm against bullets and stabbings.

Your observation is very right. It takes someone that is very observant, experienced and has moved with the elders to know that. That is one of the downsides of those jujus like that. As they ward off evil, they also ward off favour and helpers...
For sure, JuJu dey and e dey work

grin grin the bolded nearly kill me! Maybe the people serving guess he was padded with charms and pass word to others to stay clear of him. Personally ... if one believes there is a Master of Good (God) then he should also believe there is a Master of Evil (Satan). Each has powers wayyyy beyond that of mankind. I once lived in a hostel... and it was then I realized some people really do believe in the power of these charms and that charms have spiritual powers. It was said that the hostel was haunted... I never saw or heard anything out of the ordinary. But ... quite a few of my mates used to get possessed ... some seeing invisible people... some hearing the guitars be playing in the dead of nights but we next to the instrument room never heard anything. But when one was possessed... someone in the know will always send for something... a black string to tie around the victim's waist... a ring ... something .... and over time I got to realize that all the people who got possessed had something to protect them from one thing or other. I concluded that these charms are connected to some spiritual force and I try as much as possible to be out of range of their network.

My former room mate Monday from Kogi state, I have watched him stopped rain twice! I have seen him chew and swallow bottles!

One of our former staff Saheed, one of the best staff I have had! He always have a black ring in his pocket, which he puts on before a fight, and for the ring to work you have to beat him first and he has to cry for help.

He slapped 2 okada men into convulsion, He slapped another staff too into convulsion and he spent 3 weeks at the hospital, we had not choice to to let him go!
