2023 will go down in history as the year Nigeria lost its last chance to reinvent itself and truly become a great nation. For the first time, a politician who is incorruptible emerged as a front-runner. Not only that, he was also Igbo Christian and was accepted by many Nigerians across religious and tribal divides. The man proffered practical solutions to Nigeria's many problems and had the best chance of solving them.

For the first time, the masses appeared to be in control and not godfathers or cabals hoping to devour the national treasury. Every poll and postulations indicated the incorruptible man was going to win. All of a sudden, INEC shut down their server to prevent him from emerging winner. That singular act destroyed any hope of Nigeria ever getting it right.

From the time of Goodluck Jonathan, there were indications that Nigeria's future was uncertain both politically and economically. Okonjo Iweala sounded the alarms. But no one listened. Instead, Buhari emerged president. A man that is completely bereft of sound mind and lacked even the most basic requirements to rule a complex country like Nigeria. But due to tribalism and religious sentiments, they made him president. From 2015 to 2023 when he ruled, politicians stole the country dry. Buhari who had nothing to offer could only sit and watch while the country deteriorated badly. Anyone could easily tell you that Jonathan's years were like heaven on Earth, compared to Nigeria of today that is like hell.

If the 8 years of Buhari's maladministration and Nigerians foolishness in electing him president could be forgiven, but allowing another useless man to succeed him can't be forgiven.

The only way Nigeria could have successfully overcome its toxic nationhood was by becoming prosperous. If Buhari who is Fulani, actually had something to offer and helped Nigeria become prosperous, both Christians and muslims, Hausas, Igbos, Yorubas etc won't even care about his ethnicity or religion. Same is also applicable to Tinubu. But unfortunately, these men are the worst of the worst. Instead of bringing solutions that would radically develop Nigeria, they decided to ride on tribal and religious sentiments. They promoted Igbophobia as a rallying point to make other Nigerians accept them.

Today, Nigeria is going down and fast too. The signs are already showing that the foundations of this country is going to be shaken soon. From the divisive rhetorics of politicians and religious leaders, to the massive take up of arms by non state actors, then throw in the economic depression and skyrocketing poverty. It doesn't require a genuis to know that the ship called Nigeria is about to hit a huge iceberg.

Bandits and terrorists are already becoming entrenched in most parts of NW, NE and NC. There doesn't seem to be any solution. They continue to get stronger. Worse still, Biafran secessionists have not only taken up arms, but they're getting massive funding and local support. Many of the groups are now operating all over SE and SS. There have been reports of some of them attacking Nigerian soldiers even as far as Bakassi. Even going against the Navy in the open waters.

Nnamdi Kanu has become a hero in prison. The Nigerian government can't kill him, they can't release him and unfortunately for them too, they can't hold him forever. Even as he is in detention, Simon Ekpa has taken over and is even far more belligerent than Nnamdi Kanu. Ekpa even behaves like a mad man unlike Nnamdi Kanu that is even more responsible.

When a fanatical group takes up arms and have a strong ideology like the Biafran secessionists, it becomes almost impossible to stop them. Had it been Peter Obi was allowed emerge in a free and fair election. He would have turned around our economy and used dialogue to disarm the secessionists. The secessionists would have no other option than to give up. Because their diaspora funding will dry up and local support for them will end.

Any discernable observer can easily notice that Nigerian army is losing the initiative in the East. The secessionists are becoming more formidable with each passing day. As for those who are hoping for another type of Biafra vs Nigeria civil war, they should perish that thought because it won't happen. Nigeria no longer operates regional semi autonomy governments like in the first republic. So, national border wars can't happen again. What will likely occur is guerilla warfare. The question is, can a broken country like Nigeria win a guerilla war against a determined secessionists? It will eventually become a war of attrition that would go on for many years. No battle fronts but hit and run fluid attacks that will weaken the state until it finally gives up.

Like I said, 2023 will be remembered in history as the year Nigeria failed to save itself!

if Nigeria becomes great then nigerian politicians will become greatless. So why should nigeria be great.

Campaign after the inept and corrupt Obi has been resoundingly rejected by Nigerians.
The same thief whose convoy was caught with 250 million naira in cash. The same man who invested government funds in his family's business was being repackaged as a saint!
Nigerians saw through the sleight of hand and quickly rejected the 419 candidate.

No single politician dead or alive is half honest like Peter Obi. If you want to argue blindly, mention the person!

I stopped even wishing AA or Obi will get in there! Nigeria is far spent. I discussed that most of the confidential information i sight from Global bodies like PwC, IMF etc were also sighted by folks from the South west, and curiously enough, it doesn't bother these guys. So i asked my self, does it mean these guys are actually wired to hate progress or growth of the Nigerian State, or is there something with their DNA that we don't know about, such as loving to see everyone suffering, even themselves. Just go through old chats & online comments here on Naira land. Pastors are not left out. Professors are not left out. Alfas are not left out.

For instance, Nigeria is poised to loose 70% of her currency against the USD. This would cause untold hardship on the poor. The only countries seriously immune from these with huge stash of USD and with fledgling inflow of tourist or visitors.

But when i remembered that these same fallen demons actually supported Buhari and actively urged him on to a borrowing spree for 8 damn years, then i know it might actually be a DNA thing. If our education luminaries were alive to their responsibilities, they'd have studies why these guys are wired to support the worse of the society! What they oppose is good for the Country. What they support is bad for the country. Check from 1880s when European oligarchy carved Africa to themselves, in the case of Nigeria, you will see that those that gave out the Country was mainly from there. Check the people they supported from 1960 till date. You will understand better. They even hate competent leaders from their part!

Check these, the Igbos will never oppose or hate the Hausa fulani with vigour they do to the Yorubans because when the Hausa fulani make a mistake with a decision, you can clearly see it is from a position of ignorance. But for these guys, you will see that they know it's wrong, but for some weird reason, they will support it!

It is statements like this that made Obi loose , and it had nothing to do with man , God himself allowed him to loose but you guys are yet to humble yourselves. By 2027 even Obi will look back and regret allowing obidients derail him .
