Now that the election has been won and lost, we need to remind ourselves that the three leading candidate used the dog whistle to outmuscle their opponents.

Below is the dog whistle and what it means to the base:
Tinubu : Emilokan - This is a direct message to all Tinubu's political associates. I have helped you in the past to secure political positions, now is your turn to help me. Many Northerners found themselves in this column too.
Yoruba lokan: This is a direct message to the Yorubas who are known to be liberal and could split their votes. This resonate very well, especially among the Yoruba states, outside Lagos

Peter Obi: Church take back your country! - Making the 2023 election a religious war per se, helped Obi to rally the Christian base votes to himself. From his base in Igboland, to the North Central and Kaduna with large Christian population and to Lagos and other south west and south south votes where he outperformed Atiku.

Atiku: Northerners Don’t Need Yoruba Or Igbo Candidates; They Need Me – PDP Candidate, Atiku Plays ‘Ethnic Card’ During Kaduna Meeting.
Atiku's problem were many. He tried to play the ethnic card and home boy too, but many Northerners who enjoyed Tinubu patronage when the North were desperate to enthrone Buhari as the President, see 2023 as pay back time.

Those were the dog whistles, which every base responded to, as evident in the election results.

Tinubu though very popular among Yoruba political elites wasn’t really very popular among the ordinary folks because of his perceived corruption and dictatorial style of leadership. The perceived failure of the APC/Buhari administration and the Endsars drama also pitched him against a lot of people in the region. Religion also played a very significant factor in the election.

So, losing 2 states to all these factors wasn’t really bad. Yorubas are very liberal and free minded. No one person can sweep the region clean like Obi did in the south east.

Tinubu is quite popular among the Yoruba political elites due to his influence and perceived deep pockets. The only time you see them distancing themselves from him is if they cant get ticket through him.

Including his BASE.... Even his former classmates and colleagues said he was a rogue...

The OP is somewhat right regarding Ethnic sentiment.... but the idea of Christians all voting for Peter Obi was negated by his Muslim VP and Yoruba "Christians"...

Unless we are saying they are all DEMONS....?

Of course unfair to say that.

The truth is the election was bought and approved by foreign powers. That's the bottom line.

The former Eastern Region and Midwestern region voted for progress as is their culture- irrespective of tribe or religion (even "Delta" state voted for Obi)... Middle Belt same..... but it was not enough with the powers that be and their little Byatch sabos in the Nigger Delta Creeks (aka Wike).

Bayelsa, another river state called "Rivers", and another river state called "Akwa Ibom", and another rivers state called "Benue", with similar demographics to other states that heavily voted LP was the final coffin for Obi- thanks to corrupt and bought "governors"

Let's be honest with ourselves and leave sentiments aside. Some Yorubas voted for Tinubu because he is Yoruba and Some Igbos voted for Obi because he is Igbo, while some people voted for Atiku because he is a Northerner. Ditto religion, bias played a factor too.
It is what it is. All the candidates benefited from the votes from their base.

He’s more popular among Yoruba political elites. The elites who are opposed to him are the ones who can’t get benefits from him again.

Nigeria itself is nothing but tribal nations entrapped...

EURO 2024... as in the very wealthy and calm Europe we love to JAPA to from President to PIKIN, are all TRIBAL...

Anyway that's by the way,...

The powers that be from foreign lands made the election in Nigeria and legitimized it.

They must continue to have access to free NYASH (oil and things) from foolish Blackies doing greed and jealousy of others...
