My Landlord Gave Me Quit Notice After I Fixed POP in My One Room Self Contain 😭

After renting one room self contain in Lagos.
My client went ahead to fix POP and designed his apartment to his own taste.

At the expiration of his one year House Rent, Baba Landlord served him Notice to Quit.

Baba Landlord say, him wan use the apartment.

I ask my client, did you seek for approval from the Landlord before fixing POP ?

He said No.

Well, at this point every landlord have the reserved right under the law, to end your tenancy for one or two reasons best known to them.
And your Landlord has done nothing wrong here because he even followed the Legal process of evicting a tenant by issuing you a six Month Notice to Quit.

So oga, start preparing to relocate cos your 6 month's is counting already.

And if you decide to remove the POP, you must make sure you fix the roughness back to the state and way you met it . Or else .you have another case to answer

You have no right as a tenant to fix any major changes on the rented apartment without the Approval of the Landlord....it against the Landlord and Tenancy Law and it's an unlawful Act.

Two main issues were raise:

1. Did he get the landlord's approval before the said renovation? He felt he is the alpha and Omega of the apartment for the period he paid for. Now the real owner wants to "use" his apartment, una wan remind am say he is human. 🤣

2. Was he oblivious of the law and agreement as regards tenancy?

It's good he gave you quit notice, this is why I say, all this young graduate should do boi boi for two yrs so that they'll reset their priorities, planting flowers on another man's garden, nonsense.

Its happen so well in porthacourt too.
Only tin I can fix is tins I can remove without destroying it.

You don't plant flowers 🌺🌹 in another man's house, cause any day he gets angry 😡 he will ask you to leave his house 🏠.

You should have exercised patient till you built you own house before designing it to your own taste, or you discuss the work and reimbursement with your landlord. But if you can forfeit it, tell the landlord that you are sorry for not informing him before you carried out the work and that you will not ask for reimbursement, that he should let you live in his house, and that you did the POP because you love to live in his house for a long time.

Well let me use the opportunity to re introduce myself again, I’m an interior designer in Lagos , we deal with P.O.P, screeding ,Tv console, window blinds and curtain.

Apart from painting nothing else I think I can do inside or within a rentage house and if the interior fittings and settings didn't matches my taste best thing to do is to look for another apartment that's all.

I've read this story from at least 4 people over these few past days. It's all cruise.
