So I base in Awka, due to the high cost of gas at 1000 naira I decided to go for a Belgium electric hotplate,

went to Onitsha since I had much to buy, entered the market met this guy, he told me he knew where they sale it at a cheap rate. I ignored him, he keeps pestering me until I told him ok show me.

He took me to a man's shop they brought different hotplates, last we agreed on 9500 for 1 of them, I paid, then I told him to test it,

he then refered me to another guy, (that's when I knew I had entered) This guy that he referred me now started convincing me, telling me that, that one is fake, that he might test it and it break that I should go and request for iron element, I was like , oga just test let me go, he said I might lose my money.

AtLast I went back to the man and asked for the iron element, the guy brought out ANOTHER hotplate written iron element behind it. And said this wouldn't break I said ok, is this the original they assured me, I added 5000 making it 14,500.

Reaching home, I plugged it, just to boil water the glass broke.
Now av lost 14,500 for nonsense.

Please help how do I know original of this Belgium if I see one

Am asking those in the Electrical field it's annoying or people who know about original appliances, I have a lot to buy in future.

Not just for the hotplate, but electrical appliances in General.

The dude above me is right.
All these tokumbo electrics are scraps. It's better to buy used from someone that bought brand new if you can't afford new yourself, except laptops and high-end phones (due to outrageous price on preferred specifications).
You see all those tokumbo AC, fridge, tv, sound system, washing machines, blenders, etc, just run from them cos 98% of them are scavenged abroad with serious faults to nigeria. Remember say oyibo no dey too repair.
Just use vpn login craigslist, check on FREE sections and see for yourself.
Jst runaway from anything called tokumbo.
