1- What's the bitterness against eachother about?

Those guys will be cashing out massively on twitter if they take their banters there. It’s just that the Messi-Ronaldo banter niche is now saturated on twitter but they can still get a piece out of the pie.

It's human nature to argue about things. Just as u see old men playing "ayo", "draft etc" etc under the tree every day, or wen men gather under the tree and talk about politics, happenings in the country. Everyone cannot be on the same side. That is why we have the word conversation.
