A cell is a small, enclosed space that is used to confine a person, maybe as a punishment. A jail is a building that houses cells and is used to confine people who have been accused or convicted of crimes. A prison is a large facility that is used to confine people who have been convicted of serious crimes, and it typically has more security than a jail. So, in a nutshell, a cell is the smallest type of confinement, a jail is used to confine people temporarily, and a prison is used to confine people for longer periods of time. 13 Likes |

Let's put it this way: The terms "prison," "jail," and "cell" are all related, but they each refer to slightly different things. A prison is a large facility that is used to house people who have been convicted of serious crimes, and it typically has high security. A jail is a smaller facility that is used to hold people who have been accused of crimes, either before or after they have been convicted. A cell is the smallest unit of confinement, and it can be found in both prisons and jails. So, the terms are all related, but they have different specific meanings. 2 Likes |

A cell is a room used for confinement, can be found in police stations and prisons A jail/Gaol is a specific building that contains cells used for confining prisoners. Can be used interchangeably with prison i.e He was sent to jail/Prison Jail can also be a verb i.e He has been jailed Prison means Jail, Jail means prison. Just that a prison may be larger than a jail but they are specifically built for the same purpose. 2 Likes |

A "cell" is a single, small room within a detention facility where inmates are typically housed. Cells can vary in size and accommodations. A "jail" is a short-term detention facility typically used for holding individuals who are awaiting trial, sentencing, or serving short sentences (usually less than one year). Jails are typically run by local law enforcement or county authorities. A "prison" is a long-term correctional facility where individuals who have been convicted of more serious crimes serve their sentences, which can range from a year to many years or even life. Prisons are operated by state or federal government agencies, and they offer more extensive security and rehabilitation programs compared to jails. Thank me Later. |

A cell is where you keep young Igbo phone snatches. A jail is where you process Igbo killers, drug kingpins, baby factory developers etc. A prison is the final and best home for Igbo men |
