After The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, affirmed days ago that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, of the Peoples Democratic Party, was the duly elected candidate for the Kogi Central Senatorial Election on February 25, this year, the course of history has changed for the 44yrs Lawyer who becomes the first female Senator from Kogi State.

On Nov 2nd 2023, She resumed office officially as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a dream she has pursued for 5yrs, first under SDP and Later PDP.

In 2018, she declared her intentions to run for the office of Senator representing Kogi Central in the Nigerian Senate under the umbrella of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

On 25 May 2022 Natasha won the PDP’s primaries for the 2023 Kogi Centre Senatorial Elections where she faced Abubakar Ohere who picked the APC ticket.

On Nov 2nd which is her first day in Office, The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, supervised the oath of office administered to her during plenary.

The oath was administered to her by the Clerk of the Senate, Mr. Chinedu Akubueze, at about 11:41 am.

She thereafter proceeded to have a handshake with the Senate President, who handed over to her a copy of the Senate Standing Rules.

She was later led to her seat by the sergeant at arms after an exchange of pleasantries.

We hope she makes the needed change that will democratically contributed to the development of the people of Kogi Central.
