Otti, Abia LP Demand Refund of $450,000 Bribe for Judgement The last has not been heard in what allegedly led to the sack of the only Labour Party Senator from Abia State, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, by the Court of Appeal. Reliable insider sources said that Governor Alex Otti, who is angry over the judgment is demanding an explanation from Darlington on how an alleged sum of $450,000 made available for the procurement of favorable judgment was expended without any result. According to the source who begged to remain anonymous, Otti is angry that Darlington must have pocketed the money since he has earlier boasted that he has a reliable contact within the court of appeal that will help in procuring judgment for all embattled Labour Party candidates including Otti at the Supreme Court. “Governor Otti is angry. He believed that Darlington didn't handle his case with care despite that everything he needed was provided. In fact, Darlington was the anchor man because he gave the impression that he had an intimate relationship with a senior Appeal Court Judge that would ensure that all LP candidates, including the governor, win at the appeal. “A huge sum was given to him in Dollars for his case, the same way other candidates of the party that won their case at the appeal were given, except Hon. Nnamani because his case was obviously bad. It is shocking that the Senator didn't do what others did despite the support he got from the Governor. The Governor said he (Darlington) must explain what happened.” source said. Meanwhile, the chairman of LP in Abia State, Ceekay Igara, who addressed the press in Umuahia on Sunday, also wondered why the case of Senator Darlington was lost. He said: “the judgement of the Appeal Court which reversed the sacking of Hon. Amobi Ogah representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency by election petition tribunal was based on section 77 of the constitution. Look at that of Obi Aguocha, look at that of Ginger Onwusibe, where the Appeal Court judge who voided the election of Nwokocha derived his power from. Since all the judgment of that day was based on section 77. “ 1 Like 1 Share
