I won’t want her feeling sad when her peers are celebrating the Xmas big because there boyfriend funded them and she is not, so I decided to break up with her until next year if she is still available I might go back?

If you are really honest you do not have money to give her for Christmas, explain things to her, let her know things are not so rosy but give her hopes when things get better you’ll make her happy.
