The Deputy Governor of Lagos State His Excellency Obafemi Hamzat has warned property owners whose property fall on the Lagos to Calabar Highway to prepare for imminent removal.He stated this during the flagoff of the Highway in conjunction with the Honourable Minister of works His Excellency Engr David Umahi

He said the route has already been gazetted and passed into Law. This will mean that all illegal buildings which fall on the route will have to be demolished. The Road is expected to start from Victoria Island through the Dangote Refinery to Calabar
The Road is to be handled by Hitech Construction Company Limited and it is to be constructed in two phases

This project when eventually completed will be a real game changer.Also people need to understand that the Road is not being constructed from scratch. Some parts of the Road has been constructed already while some areas will be expanded
Work is already ongoing in some parts. Some state government have already started work on their end and the federal government will take over in some areas

I strongly advise if you suspect your house falls on this road to consult a Registered Surveyor,this will allow you know the status of your property because compensation will not be paid if you fall foul of the Law

There will be a room for construction of rail tracks at the middle of the road

They should give those people close marking if not they will leave structures like Landmark resort and be demolishing only Yoruba properties along the coastal highway..
If Umahi won't reduce the corridor for all others except Landmark resort, then Lagosians must kick against such partiality.
