Be alert and sober mind, your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour – 1 Peter 5:8

We have an enemy, the devil, whose goal is to steal, kill, and destroy our finances, our health, our family. He never gets tired, for that is his work. The plan of Jesus for us is to have life in abundant, that is why He gave us the authority to bind the enemy.

I will give you the key of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loose in heaven – Matthew 16:19

The authority has been given to us to bind the enemy; it is up to us to use the key. But first, you have to identify yourself with the master of the key, JESUS, for it to be effective.

Weapons used in binding the enemy

THE WORD OF GOD: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account – Hebrews 4:12-13

When we are grounded in the word, it is easy to bind the enemy because nothing is hidden before God.

THE NAME OF JESUS: There is power in the name of Jesus. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through your name. – Luke 10:17

The same authority is given to us to bind the enemy in the name of Jesus.

When you discern that the enemy is trying to steal your joy, bind the thief in the name of Jesus Christ. When you realize that he is trying to interfere in your relationship, bind the destroyer in the name of Jesus Christ. When you know he is trying to bring sickness to your doorstep, bind the infirmity demons in the name of Jesus Christ.
