Starting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who announced the dismissal of controversial Interior Minister Suella Braverman as part of adjustments Sunak is making to his team before the general elections expected next year. James Cleverly was appointed Home Secretary in the British government, replacing Braverman. David Cameron was appointed Foreign Secretary, succeeding James Cleverly. Sunak has come under increasing pressure to sack Braverman after her critics accused her of inflaming tensions during weeks of pro-Palestinian demonstrations and counter-protests in the UK.

Last week witnessed a controversy between the government and Braverman after it published an article in The Times newspaper in which it accused the police of double standards when dealing with pro-Palestine demonstrations compared to their dealings with far-right demonstrations. The Prime Minister's Office revealed that it had requested amendments to the article, in accordance with what is stipulated in the ministerial rules for dealing with ministers, but Braverman did not take them all into consideration.

Calls for Braverman's dismissal increased due to her criticism of the police, especially after the latter's insistence on allowing a pro-Palestinian demonstration to be held on "Armistice Day" (related to World War I last Saturday). Braverman had previously described the pro-Palestinian demonstrations as hate marches. She also called in a statement On Sunday, she called for stronger measures to be taken “to stop these demonstrations that spread hatred in the streets of London,” as she put it. She also made tough statements toward refugees, describing their entry into Britain as an “invasion,” and she also defended the government’s plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.

In the United States of America, an internal State Department memo accused US President Joe Biden of spreading misleading information regarding the war between Israel and Hamas, saying: “Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza,” according to a copy of the memo reported by the Axios website. The American got it. The website said that 100 employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Development Agency signed the memorandum, which it said was “individually,” noting that it urges senior American officials to reevaluate their policy towards Israel, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza, which witnessed the killing of more than 11,000 Palestinians, based on figures. Ministry of Health in Gaza. He added that the importance of the memorandum, which consists of 5 pages, is that it was organized by a junior diplomat, who indicated on social media that Biden’s support for Israel made him complicit in the ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

In France, French President Emmanuel Macron held talks with his Israeli counterpart, Isaac Herzog, to clarify the statements he made to the BBC. The French President explained that he "does not accuse Israel of intentionally harming civilians" in Gaza, according to what the Israeli presidency reported. The Israeli presidency announced, on Sunday, that Macron said that he “did not accuse Israel of intentionally harming civilians” in Gaza. Isaac Herzog welcomed the call in which Macron “clarified” his statements, according to a statement issued by the Israeli presidency.

In an interview broadcast by the BBC on Friday evening, Macron urged Israel to stop the bombing that kills civilians in Gaza, saying, “In reality, today there are civilians being bombed. These children, these women, these elderly people are being bombed and killed.” The Israeli presidency said, "Macron made it clear that he had no intention of accusing Israel of deliberately harming innocent civilians as part of the campaign against the terrorist organization Hamas." The French President explained that his statements to the BBC "relate to the humanitarian situation, which remains an important issue for him and for many countries." He also "confirmed that he unequivocally supports Israel's right and duty to defend itself and expressed his support for the war that Israel is waging against Hamas," according to the same source.

Finally, Israeli media directly accused Egypt of arming the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, claiming that most of the weapons obtained by the movement came through tunnels from Sinai. The "Bahdrei Hardim" website, which is affiliated with the extremist Jewish religious movement in Israel, said that most of Hamas's arsenal against Israel came from Egypt.

The website added that Israel possesses armed forces among the most advanced in the world, and Hamas today possesses advanced weapons. Many anti-tank weapons have been smuggled into Gaza through tunnels from Sinai in Egypt to the Gaza Strip, and via trucks moving between Egypt and Gaza.

The site noted that years ago, Israeli forces faced stones and Molotov cocktails thrown by Palestinians, but these days the Israeli army faces weapons such as laser-guided missiles and anti-tank weapons in Gaza. Analysts told the Washington Post that Israel is closely monitoring the types of weapons in the hands of Hamas, including modern sniper rifles, RPGs, magnetic bombs, attack drones, mini-submarines, mines, anti-tank missiles, and long-range missiles. Rockets can reach Haifa and as far south as Eilat, although they still lack accuracy.
