Nigerians are full of fake life. It's out of hand, nobody wants to live according to their means.

If you see me on the streets you will think am one poor guy, I live in a middle class neighbourhood and my apartment is horrible.
So a day in my life is boring, like today I made 25k. I will save 10k, investment 10k or save it. I use the remaining to take care of myself and if I make another 25k tomorrow I save 20k and invest 5k.

Develop saving culture. Someone will say "I make 50k a month how can I save?"
You can not save because you want to do big man and not live according to your means. If I make 50k a month, I'm definitely saving 20k every month, if the remaining 30k gets exhausted I will starve. You must be determined and committed.
If you are married with kids, earning 50k and probably still renting an apartment... I just want to tell you that you have made the greatest mistake of not planning.

If you start saving you find out that you are always prepared for eventualities, you don't have time for frivolities like pizza and ice cream, some people even eat once a day. Spend the bearest minimum for the best qualities because these are hard times, stop wasting your scarce resources.

If you are from a rich home like me I advise you to adopt saving and investing because no matter how rich your parents are, once you clock 30 they will want you to work or engage in something to earn income and do you expect your parents to fund your marriage? If yes then you will be a fool at 40.

I was inspired to write this because my new job requires interaction with people and I discovered that 65% of Nigerians are flat out broke, living hand to mouth.... pathetic!
Then I started to wonder, how do these people use their resources..
You need to get little. Don't be Packaging and living fake life.
How can you be using iPhone 15 pro max and you say you are broke?

The thing just tire me.

Nice advice. However, I think people also need to consider having multiple streams of income. If we are being sincere here, 50k cannot do anything for any man who lives and works in a major city like Lagos, Abuja or PH.

Saving is good, but being more enterprising to diversify your revenue resources is more important. Diversifying one's sources of income doesn't mean betting and gambling though.

The headline itself is thought provoking even without reading the content.

Fake life, packaging, for what precisely. Why not be yourself, why not sow your right size of clothes I stead of over sizing.

Who no get money, who no dey make money, but how we spend am is what is making us remain stagnant. 3-6 months hustle without anyone around yet 1 month after payment, we are back to square one because of trying to represent.

As a single guy, if 50k/month is my salary I will intentionally reduce my standard of living and cost of living just so I can save and invest.
Simple things like starting a poultry farm, or even a POS stand can constitute an investment.

True, sometimes I'm forced to ask them if they are into fraud only to find out they don't even have the brain to do fraud but they want the fraudster, celebrity lifestyle. Most of them use their school fees or lie to their parents to obtain funds, some do simple jobs like hookup and prostitution others might have some rich sugar daddy, or their parents are rich... they are mostly in their 20s, I did some of those things in my 20s too but when you clock 30 and still living that lifestyle, even dangote as a father will not tolerate such nonsense. At 30 life becomes different you no longer have any excuse, people tolerated you in your 20s because they could see it youthful exuberance. Imagine a 35yo man trying to scam his parents out of money because he still depend on them.

It's my personal estimation and I'm definitely sure its atleast near accurate.
What's the difference between education and schooling?

Well, to each their own.

What I do know is that life must be lived to the fullest. There's no point 'wasting' one's youth, missing out on memorable and exciting experiences in the name of saving away like scruge.

I work in order to live. I do not live in order to work.

So rather than devise ways to save more, I prefer to devise ways to make more money... My income has to continuously exceed my expenses. I rather squander all my money and experience untold penury if that is what it takes to activate my creative brain cells to think up schemes to make money. But to save mindlessly and miss out on life's pleasures? Mba o. Not me.

One example is embezzling funds meant for paying Wages the workers now become beggars for their own wages

Another is collecting Contract from Government but paying your workers Slave wages just to increase your own personal wealth

Because the workers might be well schooled but poorly educated.

You allowed yourself to be played. What will warrant you to be begging for your own wage? Either sue the employer or get another job, don't give bs a chance in your life because of laziness.

Like some trillionaire filling stations owners that pay their staff 13k.. either keep working or quit.

Lol. All I can see is scarcity mindset and 'looming disaster' mindset. Save all your pennies as much as you want, when certain problems come, you wouldn't even have enough money saved to do anything close to solving that problem. Do you have N80m saved up to handle dialysis and cancer procedures? Do you have N50m for kidney transplant? Do you even have ordinary N1m to pay aboki kidnappers ransom if they 'gbab' you or your dear family member travelling in one dead God is Good bus somewhere? God forbids all these things. I'm just painting a picture.

Wrong. You're probably a salary earner or small business owner. I understand that things are tough for most regular folks. But some of us are seasoned entrepreneurs and schemers, with a knack for literally dredging money out of unimaginable places - legally. People need to broaden their horizons and come to the realization that knowing how to make money is a matter of life and death. If you don't know how to make money using your own knowledge, skills, and devices, then you're at the mercy of the elements. That is the koko, not saving pennies and deluding yourself that you're making progress. Nuff said.

Saving in a hyper inflationary economy whose currency is unstable?

Best of luck buddy.

Food for thought: Your aged parents, uncles and aunties that worked hard in their youthful years thinking they’ll have a fat pension pot to retire on. Their efforts are now wasted no thanks to inflation that has eroded the purchasing power of their monthly pension income.

Better have a farm, raise livestock, fisheries or get involved in artisanal mining.

Controlling essential commodities is the koko, don’t waste your time slaving away to earn in a worthless currency. You’re only defrauding yourself.

Instead of the ewu to be giving people clues on how to triple their incomes,he wants them to starve to death in the name of saving.
