Top Energy Trends In Nigeria In 2023 by JRBSolar: 5:09am On Nov 17, 2023
The last decision a typical Nigerian would make in 2023 would be one that takes more money than it brings. This is also applicable to the use of energy in 2023. As a major basic amenity, electricity is at the core need for businesses at all levels, for homes, worship centers, schools and even in the environment. Especially for businesses, the cost of services and goods most of the time depends on the availability of electricity. For homes, the cost of running the stomach infrastructure would depend on the availability of food storage systems.

In 2023 however, we have seen a drastic shift in energy trends for business, homes and the likes as they drive towards cutting edge strategies to shrink electricity charges, and other forms of daily expenditure on power generating sources.

Let’s discuss some of the top energy trends in Nigeria in 2023.

Cost of fuel projects interest in solar energy
In 2023, fuel pump prices drastically increased to as high as N650 per liter from less than N200 in a few months. This not just affected the transportation system, we have also seen its impact on the choices of alternative electricity channels for businesses, corporate organizations, homes and entities with high energy dependency.

In 2023, Nigerians will have a shift from the use of fuel to power generators, as an alternative energy source from national power grids to the use of solar energy powered from solar panels.

Due to high cost of fuel, solar panel installation is now the new trend that has potential to minimize high cost of energy and offer a reliable power source round the clock.

Energy storage systems
Also a booming aspect of solar energy is a boost in the installation of energy storage systems in 2023. Obviously, the installation of solar panels is not just enough, and the reliability factor of solar energy largely relies on the capacity to store the energy.

And so we have seen growth in the areas of solar batteries installations in diverse capacities depending on the user's energy needs.

The use of cooking gas to power generators
Away from the solar energy adoption, we have also seen in Nigeria in 2023, how the use of cooking gas to power generators is increasingly becoming the new order especially for businesses as a way to shrink the use of fuel or diesel to run their business.
