Failed State: Judges Now Selecting Public Officials For Office

Every institution has failed in this geographic contraption: Judiciary, INEC, National Assembly, Presidency, State Government and Local Government.

Judges now decide who should govern at federal, state and local level.

With the way the thing is going now, the executive (Presidency) will soon collect the work from the judiciary. It may sound foolish for now

What solutions do you have in mind? What was wrong with various judgements on legal or logical grounds? I notice everyone complaining about Judges but they're not talking changing laws or restraining judicial powers. It seems alot of people are just concerned they're not getting their preferred judgment.

The truth is most people complaining are doing so because their side is not the one in power.

I remember when APC used to complain about the judiciary the same way Kperoogi is complaining about it now. Ack, ack ack. Then in 2015, they took power, and did nothing to reform the judiciary(except to remove Onnoghen because...he was percieved as a threat. As for his replacement...he was so bad that even Buhari did not lift a finger to save him when he was driven out of office). PDP did the same thing from 1999-2015.

Oga, you have to realize that Nairaland is not a site for serious discussion. At the end people are only interested in labelling one a PDP or APC supporter. Nigerians are so cynical about the state of their nation, plus any discussion we have here won't change nothing. Nigerians know that...and that is why any serious post is met with 'You are a tinubu supporter' or 'You are an Obi supporter' or 'You are a oppressor'.

But in my opinion, the problem is not with the judges, but with Nigerians. When we lose elections we cry cheating. When we win, we cry free and fair elections are happening. That kind of attitude does not lend itself to changing anything in the judiciary...and why the mess continues.
