Laptop charger goes off while gaming on Dell G5 5590 Gaming Laptop, what could be the cause?
It doesn't happen while the laptop is idle or in light usage. Anytime I start a game, it just goes off and the game becomes really annoyingly slow.

The laptop charger is 180w,
Specs: 2TB, 32gb ram, Nvidia GTX 1660Ti 6gb, 144hz refresh rate.

Could the problem coming from the charger or the laptop itself?

Your charger is bad... It gets overwhelmed by the power consumption of your laptop during gaming due to high performance of your CPU and GPU.

Thank you for the response. I thought so, would a new charger fix the issue or just get a charger with higher wattage like say up to 200w instaed of the 180w rating the laptop need?

Visit a computer store, test different chargers while running your game.
Buy the one that works better

If 180 wont fo it, 220 wont

If 180 wont fo it, 220 wont, was it 180 that came with it, if its a matter of the charger being bad, another 180 would do it, if its a matter of 180 not being enough, 200 wont be enough too, try downclocking the gpu with msi afterburner. Make sure laptop isnt disengaging charger due to overheating, hooe oaste isnt dry and vents not clogged

Yes it's 180w that came with it, I'll actually check the thermal paste today if it's not dried. I don't think the vents are clogged cos I always clean that out. Also, the heat is not that much with the game I'm running this morning. Infact the keyboard is more or less cool sef. I'll try using the MSI asfter burner to downclock but wouldn't that affect the performance?

It might be charger going bad or power ic along the charging line of the motherboard. Was having headache when i replied earlier.
