I'm starting this thread to chronicle my journey from Warri to Ilorin for a Wedding on the 1st of December, 2023.

I've never been to Ilorin before nor driven on an expressway beyond 5 hours .

I'm traveling with a Lexus Jeep along with a guy and two females on the trip.

If you have experience in taking this kind of journey please help me draw out a plan and the best routes to take to and from.

Also give any counsel I might need for the trip.

Even if you can't come with me, stay hooked to this thread! grin

Thanks

Ensure the car dey good condition and carry extra fluid just incase (engine oil, coolant, power steering, brake fluid) I didn't add transmission fluid cause anything make you need that one, your journey don end be that car not moving an inch.

Then your docs and necessities because of FRSC they are ruthless and wicked. Ensure all docs complete then check
1. Fire extinguisher not expired
2. Tires are not less than 2019 since date of manufacture
3. Jack, wheel spanner, extra tire and C-caution
4. No extra led light attached to vehicle in anyway or form
5. Brake light and signal light some dey ask you to put gear in reverse to check the light sef. After you pass these ones next

Dont exceed 100km per hr as a first time traveller because bad roads, also try and follow a car with average speed you can keep up with, when he enter pothole, you dodge am.

Carry 100naira note like 2k gum body, police must beg you sha even if all your documents complete, give them as your mind direct you.

Godspeed

Buy extra serpentine belt, 10 litres of water, one extra tyre,2 litres power steering oil and engine oil.
Most importantly, make sure you hold your custom papers along
