They do, though I am not a fan of permanently living in Lagos as it no longer holds any allure for me, having been born and raised there.

You are trying. I've stopped buying yams because I discovered that rice seems cheaper. A N1700 tuber of yam will not serve my family twice whereas a kilo of rice at the same price will be cooked 2 times.

Ordinarily every average Nigerian Home is suppose to be able to provide 250 tubbers annually. We need to really check where we getting it wrong. I wonder why average Nigerian homes still buy pepper a d ugu leaf. We need to check ourselves truly.

yeah u are right I know about that condition used to have ur similar case but be careful of any hospital dey will just bombard you with drugs that will mess up your colon. My advice eat a lot of fruits like melon avoid orange...this will aid your peristalsis

My personal problem with consuming yams is that i do not digest them. Once i eat them. Its like my entire stool is purely yam.

I am wondering if i am the only one experiencing this.

Maybe you don't take time to chew the yam very well.
Try and chew to pulp before swallowing.

You may have a bowel syndrome or disease (Crohn's or UC). The primary target of the condition is the digestive system. Mine has extended to being intolerant of milk, yam and sometimes veggies

It happens when the yam is hard (not well cooked), the human stomach cannot house it for long and will throw it out.

Try cooking the yam to the level where it is very very soft and eat moderately (not too much).

I do somehow because I had beautiful memories growing up there, experienced the neighbourhood evolving, made lifelong friends, played outdoors to my satisfaction (it inspired my postgraduate's dissertation which focused on children' outdoor play) and it was really colourful but as an adult now, I feel so disconnected whenever I am there.
