How is that your problem?

Why is Igbo matter your problem ?

To answer your crudely-phrased question , every tribe is proud of themselves and that’s not what I refer to when I talk about yoruba supremacism

At least I thought every tribe is proud of themselves . Are you not ?

Even in the civil service or any place of gathering with other people. They are easily arouse to envy. They are good at sniffing those better than them, so they always start early using fake humility and humbleness to warm their way into other persons, so that when they co-opt the person into hating of Igbos, they wont see though their envy.

Na their way. Just watch when any one of them write anything. From Church owners down to the common agbero high on cheap drugs on the street. Mention anything about South East, they will quickly start mentioning Niger Delta....ahahahahahahahahhahahah

humilitypays:
I have observed that is how Yorubas fight.

They will instigate others to join them in hating whoever they hate so that they can help them fight because deep down their hearts, they know they are lily livered cowards, so they need gangup to fight their perceived enemy cheesy

That is why i support the notion that one of these noisy tribe should be allowed to leave Nigerian Federation. The Igbos will gladly take that offer. By Igbos i dont mean crooks like the bleaching gov of Imo or Orji Kalu and co. By Igbos i mean the common, ordinary ambitious man on the street eeking out a living, feeling the full brute of criminals in power.
Abi Asiwaju no be criminal? People wey forfeited $460000 to US govt for drug offenses na criminal naaa! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin.

In my opinion. A criminal had ruled Lagos for 8 years. Contoled Lagos for 8 years. and now ruling Nigeria.

tuzle:
Both tribe are noise makers (Igbo and Yoruba). Quote me any where. Every day u see both tribes making noise all over nairaland, one would think we only have two tribes in Nigeria if u are a stranger and suddenly come upon nairaland. But the igbos are more boastful, followed by their south western counterpart always disturbing our peace everyday.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with a tribe being proud of itself.

What is wrong is for a tribe to be known to express its pride by trying to claim superiority over other tribes and known to vocally attacking other tribes publicly.

What is worse is to see that this disposition and reputation has been like this for over 70 years, and it is only one tribe that possesses it, out of the over 150 tribes in Nigeria; to the point a pejorative exonym for the tribe now, across Nigeria, is "Children of hate".

You don't think that is a problem worth discussions?

Nigeria is made up of states that are quite independent from federal.

Coincidentally, the SE states are (1) one of the two most monoethnically formulated geopolitical regions, (2) are definitely the most monoreligiously formulated geopolitical regions and (3) are definitely the most monoethnically inhabited places today. So what stops these "common, ordinary ambitious man on the street eeking out a living" from moving/staying in the SE and building their pseudo-country under almost 100% Igbo ruler-ship, neighbourhoods and communities?

Ethmologically, i agree with your 1-3 postulation, however, you need to be schooled how the workings of the govt. Without a special fiat, as governor you can not even construct or repaired failed Federal Roads that pass through the state you govern. You can not work on special projects like inter-state rail lines. You can not collaborate with other states on common vigilante group networking. You can not.

So how you wish the Igbos to build their region. This is the reason why criminals like Asiwaju & his allies in the North would prefer a dead beat leader like Buhari or Asiwaju than even an Igbo from the South. Because these barriers to developments would be dismantled and everyone state would be free to develop as they wish, Guess the first action? Construction and refurbishment of other ports in the South ~ Azumini, Calabar, Koko, Sapele, Warri, Port Harcourt, and inland river ports~ Onitsha, Oguta, Owerri, etc. So what becomes of Lagos? Lost of over 80% internally generated investments from Igbos. And you think a northerner would be the Custom boss? These are their fears, but dumb followers like you who gains nothing, still are blind. Continue please!

Yet Yorubas are ready to join Hausa-Fulanis to go to war to stop this useless boastful arrogant Igbos from leaving them in their one Nigeria unholy union?

If Ndigbo truly want to leave, start voting for politicians in the Senate and House of Reps that promise to sponsor bills/motions regarding secession, you might be surprised at the speed at which thet will be passed through both chambers of legislature.

Thankfully this time, the South East as a region has been clearly identified and the "mistake" of dragging minorities (abd their oyel) in the old Eastern region into a Biafra Republic would not be repeated.

If Ndigbo do secede, I hope they understand that the very profitable Nigerian markets that they successfully trade in might not be easily available or accessible any longer.

As in Ghana where foreign traders pay a much higher rate of tax, there is very restrictive set amount of foreign traders allowed in a market and there is also a restriction on what foreigners can trade in markets, Ndigbo in breaking away from Nigeria might end up cutting their nose to spite their face.

Ndigbo can (and will one day) rule Nigeria, abusing others when they are doing so will not help. Insulting others because an Ndigbo candidate lost presidential elections will not help.

Let me school you on what people with fine brains can do.

Apart from special fiat, it is not rocket science to build your own state roads. It is not like if federal roads occupy even 0.000001% of Igboland for there not to be enough space to build your own state road network. So those are all silly excuses!

SE states definitely cannot afford interstate rail lines. Very few states in Nigeria can.

You can build your own vigilante group network. Just label it "religion enforcers" and let anyone come and argue nonsense with you when they have their own Hisbah. Did Yorubas not build Amotekun?

The reason so-called "criminals in the north" would not take an Igbo from the South is because of the issues I am discussing in this thread. This last presidential election was a case of Igbo-lokan but the Igbo brand is so bad across Nigeria, especially in the North, they don't trust the tribe, they find them irritating and arrogant. That is the price for the behaviours affecting your brand that I am talking about on this thread.

And don't be foolish with this your victim mentality that is prevalent in the usual SE narratives and be saying it is "they" who are stopping us from getting to Presidency. Igbos had 8 good fcking years to strategise and plan how to get the presidency, what the fck did they do?

A real strategist came in and took it from them!!!

SE had 8 bloody good years to organise themselves, work with other regions and produce the highest quality candidate possible. Who did the SE present to us to vote for? You know his name?

His name is bloody Atiku!

Yes, fcking Atiku because we all know only APC and PDP had the political machinery to win Presidential elections in Nigeria. And the SE have made it clear for years that PDP is their own and supported party. You had 8 bloody good years to get a grip in the party and get quality Igbo candidates like Okonjo-Iweala, Soludo, Oby Ezekwensili (not chalartans like Peter Obi) in prime position but you did nothing because, unfortunately for the region, the culture is strongly individualistic.

At the PDP (national party of the Igbos) presidential convention, guess what proportion of the Igbo delegates voted for an Igbo candidate.

Come on, take a wild guess.

You can do it.

Okay, let me tell you: Bloody only 10% of SE PDP delegates voted for an Igbo presidential candidate. You will rather blame Yorubas and Hausas than yourselves.

The rest of the PDP Igbo delegates probably took money from Atiku and Wike to vote for them; and majority of the Igbo delegates ended up voting for Atiku to be Presidential candidate in an election that should have been Igbo-lokan. Even Peter Obi knew that was what was going to happen, he shockingly avoided contesting with PDP and ran sharply to Labour.

Now, as usual, people like you would not see this. You will embrace victimhood, blame others and say "they hate us and they don't want Igbos to transform Nigeria", instead of looking inwards about how your tribe does things.

Nah! You are your own worst problems because of your individualistic nature, arrogance, aggressiveness against others, delusions of superiority, get-rich-or-locked-up-trying and lack of strategic foresight & discernment, if one is blunt and truthful.

2023 elections was the easiest time to get a Igbo Presidency. I can guarantee you now that it is unlikely to happen in another 30 years now; and it was SE's fault! Stop this ridiculous and persistent "victim-siege mentality" that fuels and justifies your hate!

You and the poster you quote are the joke. Your pal claims the Igbos will "gladly" take the offer to leave Nigeria he posits.

Makes you wonder if there is a single Igbo alive capable of working with reality.

They gaslight fellow Nigerians about their desire for Biafra yet a bright child of even age six would be right to wonder how Biafra would work for a people who have arguably half of their estimates 35 to 40 million Igbos dispersed all over Nigeria.

Is it not obvious those Igbo who have moved out of ala Igbo permanently, in millions, have voted with their feet against Biafra?

Let's not even talk about Igbo elected leaders , with the mandate of the people, whose action shows they , of all Nigerian leaders, are dictatorially against the sort of greater autonomy and administrative freedom the SW is now the champion of in Nigerian today.

With Igbos, it is all about hypocritical announcement in public to blackmail and gaslight other Nigeria yet the facts of how they live and are governed shows that the left hand never knows what the right hand is up to.

You don't think that is a problem worth discussions?

You’re not being completely honest. It appears there’s a deep seated prejudice involved here on your part and I’m trying to get to the root of it, hence starting with the question : what’s your ethnicity ?

There is only one tribe in Nigeria that arrogates unto itself the mantle of superiority and sophistication over others, proclaims itself as the master black ‘ race’ (up to the point that their paramount traditional ruler , the Ooni came out to say Igbos emanated from Ile-Ife; he may have meant well but if he needed to say that in order to persuade his kinsmen to be more accommodating of Igbos, then one can only imagine the level of delusion that pervades their collective heritage ), all these but they yet continue to hide under the easily identifiable pretentious garb of faux humility. This is the Yoruba tribe. I grew up in Yorubaland, so you cannot tell me about them. You even admitted that if they want to talk bad about others , they do it behind their back .

The fact that you’ll prefer those who operate like that to those who tell it to your face (bluntly or politely but to your face nonetheless) tells me that you’ll operate like that too and I know a lot of people would be wary of associating with those of such disposition.

An Igbo man boasting about his achievements can be likened to the proverbial lizard that fell from the Iroko and declared : if no one is going to praise me for falling and surviving, I will praise myself. This is an Igbo proverb btw. I can totally relate given the unenviable position the Igbo people found themselves after the civil war. Yes they declared a no Victor , no vanquished situation but the systemic subjugation of the entire region from then till now is all too evident , more especially in a country where the centre is extremely powerful. Go look at the federal roads in the east for example. In the face of all these , the Igbo man continues to thrive, and when they beat their chest it’s a symbolic statement . It’s like saying : mama I made it despite all odds.

The Igbo man should be cherished and celebrated , not demeaned and subjugated. Cos that will only fuel the fire and determination even more .

There is only one race and that is the human race. Ignorance may cause people to think otherwise but fortunately we still have the history books to teach us

You must be delusional to think that it affects people's lives negatively if Igbos end up with their own country.

The reality is that, with the current lives of Igbos now, they would be the biggest losers if they leave the federation.

Leaving the federation is just a matter of national pride by those in power and an intentional continued punishment by the Northern elite.

I have heard so many Nigerians from at least 4 tribes that are not Hausa or Yoruba say "they should let the Igbos go". So don't flatter yourself that Nigerians are desperate for Igbos to be in the federation. It would be more of a loss for Igbos who love to find greener pastures outside the high density SE to be told to move to their landlock country and need visa to visit and work in the rest of Nigeria, where they were the least liked tribe on average.

Don't wish bad on yourselves with arrogance. Biafra is not great for the entreprenuerial Igbos. It is FAAC supporting most of the SE states.

It is very possible, the same process that gave Mr Bronze Medal 95% votes all over ala igbo in the Presidential elections wil give any secessionist candidates similar.

Why are you asking me about Ndigbo outside the South East? I am not the one asking for Ndigbo to secede, go and ask those secessionists who think the solution to their candidate Uncle 3rd place losing an election is leaving the federation.

Very well said!

This persistent "victim-siege mentality" is not getting the tribe anywhere and is encouraging some of them to justify being more irritating.

If you did a referendum today amongst ordinary Nigerians that "Should Igbos secede?" I would not be shocked if over 90% say "Yes". So this foolish IPOB "You are not letting us leave" is irritating.

Most rational Igbos would caution them that this is a case of cutting you dck to spite your wife if they secede. Many would be crossing borders illegally to find work and fortune back in the same Nigeria if they do and they would have no rights and DEFINITELY would be mistreated, all because of the foolishness, arrogance and superiority complex of some delusional members of the tribe.

There is enough power at state level for Igbos to show us examples of how great they can be as an independent nation. What they have shown so far is no better than the average Nigeria. So they should park this delusion of "Ndiraldo" if they have Biafra!

You lost me when you say Igbos should start voting politicians in the senate and house of Reps that promise to sponsor bills/motions for secession, how can that be possible with kind of INEC select we have in this country? or are we going to bring the United States to conduct the election for us? What happens to the Igbos outside South East states? can’t you guys survive without the Igbos

In a referendum, I can predict most Nigerians would offer to give you Biafra. I can put money on it.

Stop deluding yourself that Nigerians are desperate to hold on. The secession of SE does not have negative impact on the average man in Oyo, Jalingo, Warri etc. It is the average Igbo man that it would negatively affect.

The lack of allowing Biafra is just typical national land defense and the disregard & dislike the North have for Igbos; not because they love or need them.

The Igbo man should be cherished and celebrated , not demeaned and subjugated. Cos that will only fuel the fire and determination even more .

There is only one race and that is the human race. Ignorance may cause people to think otherwise but fortunately we still have the history books to teach us

Your attempted defence of Igbos only ends up showing that an unreasonable nature is innate to every Igbo.Even those, like you, who pretend to be Liberal and conciliatory.

Igbos should be "Cherished and celebrated" for deliberate, mindless and demeaning bragadoccio aimed at belittling others?

When your fellow Igbos say here that they are "dominating and enslaving Yorubas in their own land" the Yorubas should throw them a Party for that abi?

You guys are all clowns only ever capable of seeing yourselves as victims when you are always perpetrators.

Stop being disingenous!

One tribe is known for being champions at claiming superiority. That is Igbos.

One tribe is known for being champions at claiming sophistication. That is Yorubas.

One tribe is known for being champions at claiming religious purity. That is Hausas/Fulanis.

It is well documented, even academically. There is enough materials on this to show how it has been exactly like this for the last 70 years. Igbos have always exhibited this air of superiority that far back.

Yes, Yorubas are silently arrogant and think they are superior, but as long as they are not coming to you or your land to say it, they have had no problem and people prefer them.

Igbos say it anywhere and everywhere, including on their host's land. This got them killed in pogroms in 1966 and till date they are the least liked tribe.

You need to google "Igbophobia". There is nothing like "Yorubaphobia". You are more likely to find "Yorubanised"!

So, yes, it makes more sense to have the Yoruba hidden/silent arrogance! it is more classy!

You're not even as intelligent as my 6 year old kid and you continue to bark ignorantly and delusional while ignoring the reality, like that shown below, which confirms what you Igbos are. I.e big hypocrites.

Your leaders are now the biggest opposition to restructuring, regional autonomy, resource control and more independence for tiers of governance at State level.

They lag behind others horribly and only appear autocratic demons who wish to remain in "one Nigeria". Yet you insufferable and ignorant clowns keep making vapid Biafra noise.

Are you going to throw these leaders you have into the Lagoon when Biafra comes or is it that they are actually a reflection of the real state of mind of Igbos while clowns like you disturb the peace with your insincere Biafra noise everywhere?

The reality is that Igbos do not sincerely want Biafra. Your actions and way of life proves that beyond doubt even if you continue to shout Biafra 50 million times a day.

Keep up the pretence. Others, like the SW are doing reality. When that reality is upon us , I.e more autonomy for regions of Nigeria to chart their own path forward, you will all be crying because you were busy trying to be deceitful when you should have been tasking your terrible leaders to do what is right and progressive.

I noticed that phrase too. Just choose not to address it because he can twist the narrative of what he meant by that if challenged.

My response would have been: No one needs to or owes you any gaddam cherishing and celebration. You are nothing special but you are gaddam free to cherish and celebrate yourselves like everyone else, just don't do it via belittling others to claim superiority.

Even the Hausas cherish and celebrate being pioneers and leaders in Islam. You don't see their asses coming to tell Yorubas that they are fake Muslims and we are better than you; even though that is what majority of them think about Yoruba Muslims.
