When you go to see someone in the office and s/he came out to meet you at the reception or waiting room, does it mean the person respects you or does it mean that the person sees you as someone not worthy to be invited into the office?

People (big people) always come out of their offices to meet me whenever I go to see them.
Like, when I was a student in the uni, I went to see the VC and he came out of his office to meet me at the waiting room. We discussed and I left.

There was a time I went to see one of these House of Assembly members. When he was informed that I was around, the guy came out of this office to meet me where I was asked to wait for him. I was wondering why he didn't invite me in. Though it was my first time of visiting him and we weren't friends. I went on personal visit.

Another one happened when I went to visit a first-class chief in my state. When his secretary told him I was in the waiting room, this man came out to meet me there. I greeted him and after passing my message, I left.

Last week, I went to see a professor. I was sitting, still in the waiting room when this man came out to meet me. He is the DG of one Federal Agency here in Nigeria.


They never invited me into their offices. Why?

Those of you who know about office rules abi na office management, waitin e mean say big man stand up come meet you outside instead make him invite you inside him office?

You even get luck say they all meet you for waiting room. Some will instruct the secretary to drop your massage with them that they are not available at the moment.
In some office settings that is how it suppose to be, they are not dis respecting you maybe they are not yet familiarize with you to invite you to their main office.
