Marrying My South African Partner In Nigeria by Sthandawasam(m): 4:49pm On Dec 05, 2023
Hi Nairalanders. I'm 30year old male, I met my current partner and mother of my child some years back. We have decided to try out me relocating to South Africa. But I'd like her to visit Nigeria first so we can get married here and then register the Union back in South Africa.

Now my question is: would being married here would require her to stay for years before she/we can leave Nigeria for SA or can she/we just marry and leave anytime or immediately after?🤔

Please I need your knowledge on this Nairalanders. I couldn't get anything meaningful off Google.
Mods can help push it to front page please?

You can leave Nigeria anytime as long as you both get married legally. She can leave or return back to South Africa but can't leave with her,(she has to go file for spousal visa for you to join her)you have to wait for your spousal visa to be approved by the south Africa government,But the marriage must be registry marriage so you both can have the federal government marriage certificate to prove to South Africa government that the marriage is genuine and not an arranged or fake marriage.

Thanks very much sir. This is what I ended up finding on the ministry not interior webpage under marriages "special marriages" in particular.

Nigerians always finding ways to be parasites in other countries. 80% of Nigerians in south africa contribute nothing economically their just a social burden especially to the justice system. Stay home, you will never hear anyone marrying to move to Nigeria they always going to other countries to cause problems.

This is laughable coming from people who spent the greater part of the 20th as slaves of the white man. It was this same Nigeria that you are disparaging and other African countries that stood solidly behind SA to bring an end to apartheid.

I kuku don't blame you. I blame bad leadership for giving a non-entity like South Africa the liver to type crap about Nigeria
