U've offended somebody. U need to figure out the person. What is happening to you can happen to anybody. Have you cheat before. If anybody cheat me, i will do same to the person and more.

Dont panic, this is the work of hackers.You should just be thankful that you can still have access to it.
This usually occur when your yahoo password is weak and its being used on different website(mostly unsecured ones) to open an account.
Solution: Change your password and make sure its alpha-numeric

On a secure system, change your password to something no one can guess like CCku*&FBRWU.

Do you have a mobile phone/device with push settings for your email configured on it? A BB maybe? I have seen instances where an application actually sent mails to my contacts (adverts): guess during the installation, I simply "allowed it access to my address book". Un-installing the app fixed mine.

Question: The mails being sent out, are they addressed to people on you know/have in your address book?

Change your password now b4 somebody changed it and deny you access to your inbox.

Use another PC and change your password quick else. . . .

After doing that. . .scan ur PC to be sure that there is virus

To prevent your email frm being hacked, try the ff

1.) Do not login in a cyber cafe (Ths seems quite hard buh u nid to abide by this. I can always go to any cyber cafe, install a keylogger on thr system, and once a user puts in his/her login credentials, it gets sent to my mail. So DO NOT login in a cafe. . .be it Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Myspace, whateva).

2.) When the Pop up box comes on and ask 'Dyu want firefox to rememba your pwd', always click on NO.

3.) When ure done browsing, remember to clear the cookies, histories and what have you.

4.)Do NOT use the same pwd twice i.e. using your yahoo pwd for fbk and d likes.

5.)Finally, use a strong password. Think up something unique. Do not use mother/father/sista/broda's name. Do not use your date of birth. Do not use your location i.e. Lagos, magodo, Ikeja. A best way to choosing your password is by using a phrase.

Lets say my name is Slyr0x, i stay in ketu, i love gals. . . Grin and say my unique no is 7.

In choosing a pwd, iCan go by

Now dats quite secure. . .How about we using both UPPER and lower cases.

Your last option can best be described as GOING OVER THE EDGE.

From your yahoo mail, At the top left

Go to Options.

Mail Options

On the left pane, look for vacation response

Ensure there is no message there, If there is yank it off and uncheck enable
autoresponse.

These folks leave an autoforward message in your mailbox, and ofcourse like everybody says, change your password and quick too!

link your account with another account in-case anything happen. you can recover it with the other account

Hmmm, the suggestions will not work, good hacker(s) dont need to have his password for his email to receive emails.  wow. i lost my first ever email to hacker. I even called d guy in uk and demanded for £200 then in 2001. I refused, then i keep getting mails. later, i changed the pwd to something more alpha-numeric that will take bruteforce 100 years to crack, the mails were so much that yahoo close the box.

I later found out that the guy use my email as sending from: without having my pwd and sorts of mails were coming and going out of my box.  I dont need to talk much, experienced nairalanders should know what I meant.  Tell the guy to confess or beg anyone he has dealth with before, otherwise, start backing up your important mails now cos he may loose it.

you will see that you can use anybody email to send mail. this is the most simple part of it. there are softwares that can take out millions of email as if it coming from your box. and can do vise versa.

JUO suggestion is the best so far. change ur pwd to 256 xter long comprising with uPPer and Lower with alpha numerics even with spaace and special xter, it will not work. Co-forward your email to another email. If it is yahoo, open anther yahoo and deliver any incoming mails there. It is hotmail do likewise for any, END of this Tread for me.

Fixed this problem recently for a couple of friends who had been spamming me for the past 2 weeks - all 3 had the same problem. there is a trojan on your system that checks for cached passwords to yahoo, gmail, hotmail accounts. every time you log on to yahoo and choose to remember your password, this trojan opens the cached passwords database and uses this to spam everyone on your addressbook. simply changing your passwords won't do

1: Stop being lazy and enter your password every time you visit your web mail (do not choose to save or remember it)
2: Get rid of the trojan. I use combofix from bleepingcomputer.org
3: Update your Windows (Windows Update)
4: Update your Anti-Virus Software

Yahoo mail is the most unsecured email anyone can have.
Gmail is the best because you can adjust your login setting by having your cellphone to send you verification code anytime you want login.With this,even if your password is compromised, your verification code can't be compromised because only your cellphone will receive the code whenever you login and no more constant changing of your password

you need to remove your email add from your contact list and there after change your password.

Next time avoid clicking on links from your mail box, you never know where you will be redirected to.

You must have dropped your email on a forum or elsewhere and someone harvested it.

They are then using it as "reply to" or "sender" address in a mass mailer so that the bounced mails wont flood them.

The solution is to change your email addy; or study headers of 3-5 of the returned emails and set up a filter (by ip, subject or text) to block or move them to trash.

Better still, report to Yahoo!

Its called an Email Spoofing Attack. Check Google for more solutions.

This isn't just a spyware. Its[b] MOST LIKELY[/b] a spyware in a worm trying to spread, or your system has become part of a botnet. If its a worm its trying to spread (infect more victims). If its a botnet , then I am sorry to say but your system has become a Zombie Spammer. The server is most likely FUD so dont bother scanning your system. Best bet is to reformat it and change your passwords. Also remember to check the optional emails areas in your email account to make sure it has not been changed, as most updates are likely to be sent to the optional email. So there you go explanation and solution AIO.

If you make passwords too complex, you make it less secure. The reason being that the more complex it is, the more likely you are to write it down because you won't be able to recall it and once you write it down it is less secure. Security rules!

A strong password should be at least 8 characters with upper and lower case e.g N@1RaLANd.

1) Check your automatic reply settings.

2) Delete the msg in the reply box and select do not reply when I am on holiday.

As I stated earlier:

Also when creating a new password ensure to make it case sensitive best move will be :  A mixture of upper and lower case alphabets. I would have said to make it a none existing word to cripple the possible use of  brute force dictionary, but brute forcing would totally not work on Yahoo,Hotmail, etc. . . . So that is out of the picture. A simple trick I use is to type my password on a notepad somewhere very hidden in my PC I.E :

C:\Windows\System32\yournewfolder\

What I do is copy my password from that text file and paste it. This way you eliminate  the possibility of getting keylogged (if it wasn't injected into your web browser. . . LOL)

In essence no one is 100% secure as exploits are discovered daily, but you just have to try your best.

No wonder my yaho email did the same thing, I changed the password and its better now, All his thing dat made me to start using my Gmail and i am loving gmail these days more than Yahoo, Hiss,
